Overall K/D is an indicator of how good someones individual skill is - prove me wrong.

In saying that, anyone with a < 1.0 k/d is on an entirely different page. The point I'm making here is your k/d will be a good reflection of your own individual skill in a game which is full of casual PvP players (which is destiny in itself).

    • Maybe 50% of my games are me and my friends dicking around, just trying to finish a quest and not worried about k/d, wasting time waiting for something else, or trying to get passage coins/legendary marks. The other 50% is when I'm actually trying. So I don't think anyone's k/d accurately depicts their skill, maybe some players who always take it seriously but not most.

    • Your not basing it on how long they've been playing in comparison to someone who just played a couple games and got a 2.0 k/d. My k/d isn't a wow but im tactical on how I play crucible.

    • What if someone's brother screwed up their account when they first got the game? What if they only play sweaties? What if they outgun you every time even though they have a lower KD does this mean your worst than them?

It depends...K/D means the world in 3v3 game types and rumble. However, 6v6 game types like control require a bit more than a good K/D. Control is all about capturing the zones of course, you know this with over 25k kills within this game mode. Sure the point system revolves around kills, but control is key. If you have the option to push into C or create a distraction so your team can cap, then do so. Don't worry about dying if it's a 3v2 situation. If you die then your teammates with clean up the rest. A solid 1.5+ is where you want to be within these modes (Let's leave clash out of all of this. It's garbage). With 3v3 modes, staying alive is key! You must do so in games like skirmish, elimination, and salvage. Once you get a man down the other team will push to throw off your game. These are the moments where K/D comes into effect. Destiny is a happy middle between CoD and Halo. Call of Duty requires a great K/D and playing well as a team to secure the win, but who gives a shit about wins in CoD? No one. Everyone cares about your K/D and if you're at the top of the list in Search or Demo or TDM or whatever else. Halo is all about the win! You can go 20-0 but if your team loses, you're not going up in rank at all. Destiny offers the best of both. It rewards you when you win and acknowledges you when you do well with kills. K/D does not define a players skill, doesn't make he or she garbage, but it does play a big role in choosing who you want by your side. All depends on the goal you choose to have. I'm still working on my PvP skills. I'm above average, but that's about all I can say for myself. Trials is a breeze if that says anything...idk.
