2 RepliesThis term has been used to describe people who are both sore losers and winners. Tryhards are by definition in the game world as someone who thinks they are better than everyone else no matter how unskilled they are. They are usually big trash talkers if they win, and when they lose or die they accuse the person(s) who killed them of hacking/cheating every time. A try hard is also defined as someone who uses extremely cheap tactics to win or get kills. As in spawn camping or spawn killing, lag switching, or using some form of glitch to gain the upper hand. Tryhards give true competitive players a bad name. And sweaty is just a derogatory term used by casuals to insult competitive players.

One who tries hard It depends, in general I consider a try hard to be somebody who makes it their goal to beat the game 100%, and tries to perfect their skill at the game. In PvP a tryhard is usually that guy that takes he game way to seriously, wether they're good at the game or not. My friend beat every halo game solo and co op legendary so he had all the difficulty skulls filled in, and he also beat all the games except for 2 and 5 solo LASO. He's currently working on those two. He collected all the collectibles and achievements, other than the multiplayer achievements in every halo game because he sucks at multiplayer. I consider him a Halo tryhard.

Simply put? Someone who takes a game (or anything insignificant) too seriously.

There’s lots of people that act like try-hards, and they ruin the game for everyone else who’s just trying to have fun. Basically, If any activity is just for fun, and you’re taking it too seriously… you’re a try hard. You can find try-hards anywhere. Have you ever seen someone spiking a ping pong, and the other person barely knows how to play? That person spiking the ball is being a try hard. I first heard the term try hard when I was playing the video game, Call of Duty, and my friends said the opposing team was full of “try-hards.” My friends had looked at the stats of the other players, and saw that the “try-hards” had killed a lot of people while dying as little as possible. Basically, they played in a way that made the game less fun for us casual players. When people treat leisure activities like work, they usually don’t get to enjoy what they are doing. So, next time you’re playing a game and it seems like people aren’t having fun, ask yourself, are you being a try hard? Not my post

It's someone that cares too much about their k/d in the crucible and will either kick or leave a raid group if the group doesn't do their strategy or they wipe more than once. They are also the people who make lfg posts requiring you to have completed the hard raid multiple times, be a ridiculously high light level and have a certain gun at a certain damage or for trials you must have gone flawless x amount of times and have a kd of about 2.0 or higher. That is a try hard.

Try Hards usually refer to bads that try to be good and fail, thus blaming others. That's why they are "trying." The good players don't fall under this category, since they are actually skilled.

Someone who doesn't play for fun. Someone who goes all "pro mlg" when playing against a team of people with nlb. Someone who rages every time they die, and gives lame excuses. Someone who....you get the point
