First off, let me be clear; I loved Titans in year 1, and I still love them now, but this post is directed toward people who try to say that the Hammer of Justice should not be nerfed due to Titans' weak year 1 PvP game.
Just because your supers last year might not have been the best, doesn't mean that this monstrosity of unbalanceness shouldn't be nerfed. Seriously, I'm all for Titans having great supers, and I want all the classes to be viable in both PvP and PvE, but that doesn't mean we can let one super completely rule PvP like Bladedancers did early last year. The supers, in their current state, are unbalanced, and that is a problem regardless of who has the short end or long end of the stick. Thank you for reading.
Oh, and if anyone points out to me that Hunter supers were OP year 1: Yeah, I know, it sucked, and I wanted them to be nerfed when they were OP just as much as I want Sunbreaker to be nerfed now.
Edit: Here's a little clip from a mayhem clash game I played yesterday. This kind of stuff is why Sunbreaker rules the Crucible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncq42nWlQeA

Consider the following. TITANS ARE JUST FINALLY FILLING THEIR INTENDED ROLE 55% reduction is the standard for Radiant Skin Sunsingers and Sunbreakers The thing is that most Sunbreakers spec for max armor, and will opt for Armor boosting gear when using their only PVP sub class. Since Titans in year 1, never were really seen walking around with their supers for that long (Defender just stayed put, and Strikers were 1 and done). Most people are not used to high armor characters. Titan's armor, will always out class every other class for armor. So we don't have a super problem we have a mind set problem. The health regen isn't an issue because its a perk, that requires a kill, just like hungering blade for blade dancers. The reason why it extends to all the titan abilities is because their melee is useless. Now the reason why blade dancers die during their super is because hungering blade is the best perk to use period, and that perk is useless with low recovery. Since Hunters focus on agility, the only good build is to try to max recovery and agility, (also agility because it helps them get to their target quicker). Now we have the polarizing character. A high armor beast. Titans can not get max agility and recovery, so they will focus on Armor and recovery since it mixes better with cauterize. People are just not used to that. A weak argument would be "Titan Skating", ok fine, but titan skating doesn't work well on all maps. Sector 618, for example, Titan skating is next to impossible. The low ceilings trip them up and you don't typically want to risk it for the mid section where a miss timed burst leads to a very Super Mario death. Maps like Banner Fall and Pantheon where there are high ceilings and lots of straight lines are good for Titan Skating. So with the limit map selection where titan skating is a variable option, it is a non-factor. OK so lets address the head shots. In Naroon's Video, https://youtu.be/Tg8B4R3zRuo It was well done, but it never accounted for radiant skin Sunsingers. This is HUGE. It changes the way Sunsingers are used. Firebourne Sunsingers are REACTIVE, and Radiant Skin are PROACTIVE. Meaning one is going to go hunting (Radiant Skin) and one is going for revenge (Firebourne), That being said Sunsingers can get the same armor boosting perks like sunbreakers that give a further boost to their armor. Add flame shield to the mix and they have armor that eclipses the Sunbreaker. During standard PVP, (not IB or ToO), they can rock a RAM on top of all that as well and just be stupid tanky. At this point snipers headshots won't matter like sun breakers. Now if you factor in cauterize the debate shifts to what is better ARMOR or RECOVERY? Consider this, Cauterize will disengage after they next shot the titan will take. Think of the Red Death Perk, Its great if you run into 1 person, but after a group its not so good. Where as Flame shield is applied INSTANTLY. Flame shield roughly adds 75 extra HP to the Sunsinger. When all is said and done a Sunbreaker max effective health pool is at 215 with 55% Damage reduction, and a Sunsinger can have a potiential max health pool of 300+ with the 55% Damage reduction. AKA Soaking the Sleeper Simulant. I hope this can further explain why sunbreakers are not as OP as people say they are, they are merely a paradigm shift in how crucible is being approached. As a community we have to accept that the health pool is now deeper than it was before, and that doesn't mean its "unbalanced", since the water is always level at the top. EDIT https://youtu.be/Fu6rVyQ3gUo Datto's research into damage reduction based off of Rocket launchers. TL;DR 1. Sunsingers = Sunbreakers damage reduction. Illusions of greater damage reduction is because of Titan's naturally higher armor stat. 2. Sunsingers can stack more armor if built correctly. (Radiant Skin + Flame Shield + Solar Subclass Armor + Ram) (Even with out ram and solar sun class armor, a sunsinger that activates flame shield can soak a Sleeper Simulant shot, a Sunbreaker can not) 3. Bladedancer = Sunbreakers= Since hungering blade works just like cauterize its based off of recovery. A bladedancer can not max Armor and Recovery, so most spec for as much agility and recovery, meaning their already lowest armor class doesn't appear to have the same damage soaking potiential. 4. Sunbreakers are not op, its just a symptom of high armor becoming in style for PVP, instead of the year of blinky jumpy builds.
originally posted by echelon730

4 RepliesThat's all you hear on these forums anymore are kids crying for nerfs! Just play the game already an quit whining! Just because u suck doesn't mean everyone else should be punished! Fvcking noobs!!!

The only time sun breaker is balanced...is when there is a sun breaker on the other team. Lol
-
2 RepliesI main a Titan and I think sun breakers are op.
-
Lool since i switched to ps4 they one shot me during super even more time than before (with GG,shotgun, sniper) played a mayhem 5 mins ago a guy one shotted me with golden gun 5times during super full health with solar chest
-
By mayhem you mean where the whole point is everything is OP?
-
3 RepliesSunbreakers really aren't that op. People make them seem like a big deal because of how often they're killed by one. People use titans more now because they finally have a "ranged super" My opinion
-
They should just make every gun and class super weak.
-
Shut up Meg

8 RepliesI love the Sunbreaker. I've been running it pretty much exclusively since I got it unlocked. I'm pretty sure that means that I'm a Sunbreaker defender. That said, anyone who says "Sunbreakers are fine because Titans were the weakest PvP class in Year 1" has just lost their argument. It's one of the stupidest arguments I've seen, and anyone who uses it should be ashamed of themselves. As for the overall durability of the Sunbreaker during their Super, Sunbreaker does get 5% more Damage Resistance than most other subclasses: they get 55% compared to the usual 50% that most other classes get. They're not the only subclass that gets that, though. Sunsingers can get the same Damage Resistance with the Radiant Skin perk. Yet there are no complaints about how hard it is to kill a Sunsinger. Yes, I am aware that it's not quite the same: Sunsingers have to actually take the Radiant Skin perk, while Sunbreakers get the extra Damage Resistance for free; with the existence of the Fireborn perk (which I personally despise with a fiery passion), pretty much no one takes Radiant Skin. The point here isn't to say that the Radiant Skin perk makes the Sunbreaker okay; it's to point out that if you're going to complain about the durability of one, you need to also be bringing up the other. Otherwise, you look like you're just getting butt-hurt because you couldn't kill a Sunbreaker in a single shot. Also worth noting: if you try to kill a Guardian with their Super active with a Rocket and they survive, it's not because of their subclass. All classes can survive a Rocket if hit while benefiting from their Super' Damage Resistance, as long as they don't get hit by the Rocket directly! The reason for this is that in PvP, the splash damage of a Rocket isn't fatal to a Guardian with Super based Damage Resistance; all classes will have a sliver of health left. In order to kill with the Rocket, you need to actually hit the Guardian with the Rocket itself; the extra damage from the direct impact will deal the damage needed to actually kill the target. Of course, the kill can also be made by another player, or a grenade, etc. Or you can damage them first, then try the Rocket. The point is, if they eat a Rocket and survive, make sure that you actually hit them with the projectile itself before crying about how the class is OP or the person is cheating.

5 RepliesDumb Hunter shit.

3 RepliesWhy is this even a topic still? I see sunbreakers get shut down all the time. Let them have it. Seriously. It was bad the first couple weeks when people didn't know what to do. Now sets of people team shot them with snipers or shotguns. I feel like 99.9% of complainers are either terrible at PvP or just had a few bad games and can't take a loss.
-
3 RepliesAs a Titan main (currently using subbreaker) I'll admit the shield is what makes it OP, the bonus shield shouldn't be 55% but rather 50% and even then it will feel a little OP if he healing perk is used but in a rewarding kind of way the hammers should be left alone
-
I'm all for nerfing. In fact we should probably nerf everything but bladedancer. Just wait 3 more weeks. It won't matter anymore then.
-
9 RepliesYou know you lose all credibility when you use mayhem as your source. Oh well...
-
3 RepliesSo by your words, bladedancer ruled year1, why not let sunbreakers rule year 2 ;)

3 RepliesI main warlock and I hate hunters. I hate their life styles, their attitudes and the overall appeal they have to COD fan boys and whiney kids. The recent constant bitching made by hunters towards Sunbreakers make me hate them even more. Whenever I play as my disgusting Hunter in Mayhem Clash, I have learned to hate hunters even more! Why is it, that the guy who mains a Warlock, hates hunters, but spends all of his Mayhem or regular crucible time shutting down Sunbreakers with my bow and killing them? The look on the Titan's Face when he tries to throw a hammer at me and only air is tossed and I promptly shoot him in the face. Ive accepted the fact that as a nighstalker, my main role is to shut down roaming supers be it Sunbreaker or Stormtrance. Why cant all of the complaining hunters get over themselves and realize they have a supportive role now?

2 RepliesEdited by zJDz: 10/23/2015 7:43:03 PMYou can dodge the hammers while you shoot them I do it all the time. If you are up against a good player you are going to be killed no matter what super/class they use. Player skill makes the difference in winning gun battles. If hammer of sol was so op then why doesn't everyone use it?

Well I dont care if they get nerfed or stay as they are but please make them charge longer (like 2x longer to charge) on mayhem. They are way too op
-
18 Repliestitans are meant to be the kill everything in a room class calm down this is the first time we have a mobile super like bladedancers and because its good everyones getting pissed off this is how we all felt about bladedancers
-
Thank you. Finally someone who plays the class that admits its overpowered. I feel a lot of these people saying its balanced are the same ppl who dont use anything else anymore and are just scared of having it nerfed. I agree its ruining the crucible experience right now
-
3 RepliesI hate that people start associating classes to the character of the person. Hunters are all douchebags CoD kids Titans are the cool kids Warlock are everyone Stop doing this because it's essentially racist or classist. It's gross especially because I don't fall into any of those categories.

5 RepliesUntil Voidwalker cannot shut down my Super, you cannot consider it OP. That is all. Straight Cash Homie
-
Bd cpuld be stopped by a shotty melee sunbreakers are unstoppable unless you rock a spindle like me, I agree they shpupd be basically unstoppable but they shpuld only have 3 shots like gg or have a perk/armour that gives them more like symbiote
