Weapon parts nerf??!?!?! Really??????
In the update they mention nerfing the yield of weapon parts
When has anyone ever said amount of weapon parts from dismantling items is hurting the game in any way????????
update 10/19: lots of great posts and ideas below- also good to see some potentially good news in the weekly update last week about weapon parts amounts getting re-adjusted.

1 ReplyCompletely stupid idea yet again from Bungie. I am struggling to build stronger weapons and get my last 2 touch of malice weapons (to infuse into other primary weapons). How is a nerf of weapon parts a good idea? perhaps a higher drop rate would be better. my drop ratio on low level gear vs attack rare weapons seem to be 8/10 (armor) and 12/10 (weapons). And when are we going to see 300 or higher rare and legendary drops to help build better armor and weapons?

I'm near point of stopping playing now, I've been around since beginning but this and the coin fix is a cheap ass move to keep us on the endless boring grind.

3 RepliesBungie is -blam!-ing retarded. They create a loot based game. We grind for loot. They keep nerfing loot drops and now they nerf mats from those loot drops. They haven't learned that we as a community will NOT participate when there is a perceived lack of value/reward per event. It's obvious they want to extend game play. But here's the problem. We ALL are already devoting as much time as we have. We CAN'T devote more time because we DON'T have more time. I believe in cause and effect. But what they're doing wont achieve the "effect" they're looking for. Many of the decisions they make are proving to embitter their player base. It doesn't seem like such a wise choice. I honestly haven't touched IB yet. My son's been playing, but I'm kinda losing steam.

I hope the comments made in the weekly update last week are a positive sign of some weapon parts buffing!

just fyi since some have asked... I was at around 900 parts when TTK launched, as of last night down to under 200 after Eris insisted I fork over 25 to keep TOM quest going - that includes scrapping stuff out sooner than I normally would and being a lot more selective about keep/upgrade/infuse. I have not donated parts to factions, didn't go re-roll crazy in HOW, but I do like to test fully upgraded weapons before I make decide to keep/scrap. Sometimes I just like to chill out and do some weapon testing - call it a side hobby within the game - part of MY legend I guess, I should probably write reviews on stuff - pre TTK I tested about everything since day 1, no complaints about RNG here other than duplicate city lately. What is the point of arms day if you can't even upgrade the orders to give them a good test???

1 Replyat first,infusing things I didnt notice how many weapon parts it took,now that im under 100 weapon parts and will have a harder time getting them I have had to stop...they are finding yet another way to make us have to play more to get our gear to a raid ready level...I cant even believe they did this...it actually really pisses me off they would do such a thing...arent there better things to do,....like make the servers more reliable?

We took out the heroic but increase strange coins in things Bungie now we are getting to much nerf

I'm stuck not being able to upgrade my weapons and I've no idea why is this good in any way. Levelling the weapons is enough.

2 RepliesPut the puzzle pieces together. They're lowering the rate of these sort of things and rewards while introducing this new pay-to-win system. They're trying to make farming these materials an absolutely unenjoyable experience to the point of which it is gets awful enough for the player to cave in and just buy the materials with actual money. And that equals profit.

14 RepliesThe issue came from a single issue. Dismantling a fully-leveled weapon used to yield MORE parts than had been put into it, plus motes. So it was really, REALLY easy to exploit the system to rapidly rank factions and accumulate basically limitless stocks of parts and motes.

4 RepliesI have no idea how anyone can complain about weapon parts.I just started a warlock,you can check just a tad over 2 hours play time,and already have 168 weapon parts. When TTK started I had over 6000 total weapon parts over 3 characters and used 5000 of them on 1 character to level dead orbit.Still have not felt the lack of weapon parts and doubt I will.

It is really dum in my mind from launch of TTK the weapon part felt like they drop more but now I don't know hopefully it's not like the end of house of wolfs end of it I had 13-20 elt light and 15 weapon parts
