EDIT 3: People seem to be missing my point. I'm asking if Destiny, with its addictive MMO-like nature, will kill other shooters, like Cod and Battlefront. If you're on these forums, odds are you have spent more time in Destiny over the last year than any other game. Think you can stay away long enough that you might just miss Xur Day? -_^
People are saying the new shooters coming out, like Battlefront and CoD will kill Destiny.
I beg to differ. Destiny, as a persistent world MMO, is by nature addictive. There is always more to do, more goals to reach, more loot to find. Destiny will go a long way before it dies, and a new release that you play and be done with, will pass away, but Destiny will remain.
You will always come back...
It is your Destineeeeey
EDIT: Most of you got my point, but lets ask more seriously; Will DESTINY actually be responsible for KILLING another new shooter, like Battlefront, Cod, etc. This seems like a much better topic to talk about.
EDIT 2: And now we learn the secret to getting thread replies, make a controversial title, and INVITE PEOPLE TO SPEAK THEIR MINDS! Im getting update bleeps every other minute now... ^_^

Play all of them?
-
I had fun with the battlefront beta. It's nothing special in my opinion tho
-
No. Vice versa.
-
Personally I played battlefront and I wasn't in awe it's a pretty generic shooter and will do okay.
-
Nah! I'm really bored by this inconclusive Destiny soap opera. Really. After more than one year, I have less activities than I began with and mostly boring. My fault. I should've bought this game one month ago LOL! Sorry for my bad English.
-
EA already did

Content is fresh for like three weeks and then people get bored, yet my brother always finds people to play with on Blops 2 and I see tons of servers for BF3 so yea thats longetivity for ya
-
PLAYED POKEMON THE OTHER DAY.....
NEARLY F*CKING DIED!!!
-
I managed to play half a game of Battlefront before the servers crapped(EA game, so was expected) and I hnestly do not see what people are raving about. I thought it was bad. I genuinely mean that. This is not defend Destiny and crap on everything else post. I genuinely thought it was bad. The movement is horrible. The graphics are lol worthy. The map I played was terrible. The Gun-play was designed for 5 year old's. but to be fair, it was only half a game.

> not an mmo > not addictive, the game forces you to do things over and over and over again to progress > rng is awful

1 ReplyAnyone who has ever used any variation of the phrase "x(game) will kill x(other game)", is a hyperbolical idiot.

No but I heard destiny killed aids
-
Edited by Hollmenn: 10/13/2015 10:17:38 AMPeople can play more than one game. So no, destiny will not kill battlefront. However, I believe battlefront will kill itself.
-
nope, destiny will never die, no matter what, people have said like 283849327429374430443-234293434934739742343-432454335 times that [insert game title here] will kill destiny
-
Battlefront will demolish other games like it. It, however, can't kill destiny for they are not in the same class of shooter.
-
If any game can hurt destiny it's going to be The Division. Take destiny patrols, mix in random events, fire teams. Not to mention real guns and pvp zones in which you can engage in combat with other fireteams with operations etc for better loot. That right there may hurt destiny.
-
I don't think so. Battlefront will be strong for a while after release. But I don't think Destiny will suffer even a bit when Battlefront or any other game drops.
