You really think we're stupid, don't you? These microtransactions are simply a way to milk more money out of your loyal fans. You're exploiting the younger population the same way Candy Crush Saga exploited kids by them using their parents credit cards to buy stuff. And to the older audience, you are simply thinking we'll buy into it.
You say we'll never need them, you say that it's only cosmetics but we all know that's not the truth. You will eventually put weapons and armor that give you an advantage over players who choose to abstain from these purchases.
This a poor business tactic that free-to-play MMOs use to garner profit but we bought your game and expansions and there is no reason for these transactions besides corporate greed. If it does only stay cosmetic then cool that's fine, but I highly doubt, with your (Bungie's) reputation in this game, that that will always be the case
We know where this is going, and I, for one, am appalled.
EDIT: This post isn't about having the money to buy this or not. Never once said anything about that. For those of you that couldn't gather that, you should probably invest more in reading lessons than emotes.
EDIT 2: We're trending guys, keep it up!
EDIT 3: If you disagree with me, please give me an educated rebuttal rather than just calling names. I'm open to discussion and compromise on how this should work as well as the speculation of others.

The only thing you accomplished with this nonsense post is making me want to buy every single emote she will sell.

2 RepliesSo them adding in cosmetic micro transactions but removing paid DLC is a bad thing?

6 Replieshttp://bfy.tw/28eC
Slippery slope arguments state that a relatively small first step leads to a chain of related events culminating in some significant effect.
Now, in the article, it also states that if a reasonable warrant can be provided, that the argument is not a Slippery Slope. Be that as it may, I do not believe that there is enough evidence for "Pay to Win" being incorporated in Destiny's Future. Without reasonable evidence, this is simply "fear mongering" meant to appeal to the Destiny community's fear. It's stoking the flames under Bungie for a problem which doesn't exist and will not likely ever exist. So can we agree that people paying money to bust a move in Destiny isn't worth getting emotionally distraught over?
-
I agree. Destiny is going downhill and if this goes as you predict, it will be the end of this game for me, at least. With battlefront and other games coming out, it might be time to walk away from this company altogether.
-
-blam!-ing christ you folks are pathetic. Every single one of you have this weird "worst-case scenario slippery slope"-mentality that if Bungie makes cosmetic microtransactions, it automatically means we'll be paying 10 bucks to access Nightfall once per week. If you really think that's where this is going, I feel really damn sorry for you.

Edited by steadyhand08: 10/6/2015 1:31:03 PMAnd mute. God gamers get herstical over everything. Honstely if the game goes pay to win just play somthing else. Nothing in this game makes any difference in the real world. if you stopped playing tomorrow it would make 0 difference to your life

6 RepliesPretty funny how many seem to know exactly where this is going! So if you are so clever you should have seen it coming ages ago. Which makes me wonder why you all carried on buying the dlcs and supporting bungie/Activision.... Oh yeah thats right. You don't have a clue what's coming... Remember all TTK will be shit and have no content posts also?
-
8 RepliesDid you get the memo about free DLC? No? Okay, read it.

Cocaines a hell of a drug

1 ReplyYour tinfoil hat is on too tight.
-
7 RepliesI swear, people want everything in this Damn game to be free. 40 bucks for dlc? Everyone goes apeshit. Free story/quests/content funded by optional cosmetic items? Everyone continues to go apeshit crazy
-
Apparently in another article(Kotaku maybe), Bungie said that there will be no more paid DLC until Destiny 2. All new content will be free, while this will have small little micro-transactions. I'm cool with that!
-
3 RepliesI can support pay2dance but I will melt this disc in the oven if they do pay2win.
-
You know borderlands had cosmetic microtransactions, and call of duty did too, and so will Halo 5.
-
As part of the older audience I couldn't care less for microtransactions for something like emotes. We already pay a form of subscription.
-
Soon enough you'll use silver to buy an in-game red bull that unlocks a quest that gives an exotic.
-
It's only going to get worse, after all, Activision is the one pulling the strings. There's really nothing we can do now but complain about this and maybe they'll take it off but I highly doubt it. One thing for sure is if they start selling other things such as weapons or armor that give people an advantage over non buyers, I am leaving.
-
Honesty I don't give a -blam!-. I'll probably buy the shit out of the emotes, because well 1) I have the money. 2) I want the emotes 3) I really don't care
-
2 RepliesWhy are the emotes not free and included in with all the money we spent on the game and DLCs?? They should be a part of the game. Not something to buy.
-
When I heard about micro transactions I was like about time. I want some new emotes.
-
1 ReplyIf they do release armor and weapons I would imagine it would be weaker than raid gear. So far it is dance moves...Bungie is letting people have dances for a small price. You don't need it but if you have the cash and are in the mood for dancing...you can buy dances...plain and simple. Fans can be stupid and buy everything. I don't exactly let my kids have my credit card so they can buy everything and make me poor. If the fans have money then why not? Unless you have a problem with people spending their own money.
-
Look, it's just some dances. Stop using the slippery slope argument when it doesn't apply. Microtransactions for cosmetics has been a thing in gaming for ages, and the majority of games that offer it did not become pay-to-win. Just buy them or don't; it's entirely optional, and harms no ones.
-
You should be focused on getting the best deal out of the incoming deal. The writing has been on the wall for micro transactions for some time. Why not see if you can get a better line of communication between players and bungie.
-
You are whats wrong with this community
-
7 RepliesThe trouble is we pay for each DLC in Destiny. It is not a f2p game. Games like Warframe that are F2P earn the money to further develop the game from microtransactions. Bungies decision to add microtransaction is simply a cash grab. Squeezing money from people that have already paid for the content.

To me £50 for a download that essentially gives you back some of the old destiny is a little bit of a middle finger to the face of the loyal players
