You really think we're stupid, don't you? These microtransactions are simply a way to milk more money out of your loyal fans. You're exploiting the younger population the same way Candy Crush Saga exploited kids by them using their parents credit cards to buy stuff. And to the older audience, you are simply thinking we'll buy into it.
You say we'll never need them, you say that it's only cosmetics but we all know that's not the truth. You will eventually put weapons and armor that give you an advantage over players who choose to abstain from these purchases.
This a poor business tactic that free-to-play MMOs use to garner profit but we bought your game and expansions and there is no reason for these transactions besides corporate greed. If it does only stay cosmetic then cool that's fine, but I highly doubt, with your (Bungie's) reputation in this game, that that will always be the case
We know where this is going, and I, for one, am appalled.
EDIT: This post isn't about having the money to buy this or not. Never once said anything about that. For those of you that couldn't gather that, you should probably invest more in reading lessons than emotes.
EDIT 2: We're trending guys, keep it up!
EDIT 3: If you disagree with me, please give me an educated rebuttal rather than just calling names. I'm open to discussion and compromise on how this should work as well as the speculation of others.

Edited by SeneschalGrigori: 10/6/2015 7:33:54 PMI remember before the game was even out they stated they are looking into microtransactions. Did people just forget that? *It really needs to stay cosmetic*

activison
Have you Heard of them They made cod There milking the money out of fans Activison is worse Than BUNGIE Not BUNGIE fault
-
The real "villain" here is Activision. If they piss off enough Destiny players they may go to other FPS... like Call of Duty... who's the Publisher for Call of duty? Activision?!?!?! Hmm.....
-
I love this game and personally believe it is worth far more than I've paid to date. I am happy to support it through these micro transactions. Just don't -blam!- up and sell ANYTHING power/level/advantage related.
-
It's YOUR choice, Bungie just wants to add some small details into the game. It's no different than a dlc, just smaller.
-
7 RepliesYou made a post complaining about an assumption you made about the future that goes against everything Bungie's ever said about the game.
-
Its your choice, do it or dont. Stop crying and grouping everyone in your dumb posts.
-
Why does it matter? Bungies not forcing us to buy stuff. If it really bothers you then yell at the fan base who actually "buys it themselves".
-
-
I concur, sir. Money ruins gaming companies.
-
Watch out, bungie. OP is on to you!
-
1 Replythe degree of micro transactions should be something that can be acquired in game. there is a difference between a micro transaction and a pay wall a pay wall is content that is in the game locked behind a purchasable key only obtainable through monetary payment. a micro transaction is a faster movement of currency to acquire items in game that may take longer to acquire while playing the game normally. i fear bungie is going the pay wall route, not to mention we still have yet to receive more than a few new exotics beyond year 2 remakes......i guess micro transactions are going to unlock that stuff for "FREE" right
-
4 RepliesFunny how you portray Bungie as some kind of evil corporation... Why does everyone have to react so heavily to a MicroTransaction service being added. I for one really couldn't care less. I'll use my free silver to buy an emote or two. Maybe if I want more I'll buy some, but that's it. In the end that money is going inside of a business so that they can spend the money of releasing and sustaining products.
-
How dare Bungie do those things that they haven't done yet
-
There's already a shitstorm so I don't think they'd add P2W weapons, because you all know how the community would respond. PS: if you don't want something, don't buy it.
-
2 RepliesGet back to me when the problem you're complaining about is actually a problem. Moaning about pure speculation is futile.
-
As long as it's purely cosmetic then I see nothing wrong. No big deal at the moment. Ps how much do the emotes cost?
-
Bungie already lost their reputation
-
3 RepliesProbably not pay to win, but definitely foresee pay to advance faster. Before next DLC every other cosmetic item in game will be for sale. Ships, shaders... When the new DLC releases the leveling progress will be significantly lowered, and a boost item will be for sale for silver. Armor and Weapons may take some time.
-
Then stop playing if you dislike such a cruel and oppressing company like bungie
-
1 ReplyDon't worry you effing cheapskates. I will be buying emotes so that all of you crybabies can have free shit. So when you get your dlc in a couple months for free I'll be waiting for all of the thank you BJ's.
-
Remember People, ^^^

3 RepliesMy problem isn't with putting cosmetic things like emotes in the game for real money transactions, my problem is that they are spending time creating these things, instead of fixing issues, bugs and imbalance that are breaking the game. They have all our DLC money, why are we now paying for extra emotes and not getting quicker fixes? I can choose not to buy emotes, I cant chose when to balance abilities or weapons (Remember 9 months of Thorn/Blink/Shotgun Meta?)
-
The only thing you accomplished with this nonsense post is making me want to buy every single emote she will sell.
