Why does grimoire score matter?
Last time I checked your grimoire score shows how much youve looked up guides to get it higher, not how skilled you are. So why is it that groups ask for 4000+? "Oh, you skipped doing crota because you thought he was boring? Oh, you cant go collect dead ghosts? Must be a scrub"...
edit: Toxicity rampant, abort abort. Elitist missiles imbound. Prepare all logic walls for impact.
edit 2: You get G score for kills with a weapon type, type of enemy kills, finding dead ghosts, doing strikes, new crucible maps, kills in crucible, and other pointless, easy to obtain ways apart from actually killing PvE bosses.

I took 6 months off from the game. Just started back about a week ago. I now have what is considered a low grimoire score. I couldn't care less. People who judge based off grimoire score are just superficial d'bags. The type of people I would waste time with irl. Oh..' you didn't find the dead ghosts..you must suck brah....

It just shows your willing to put in the time to complete stuff. Kind of like how jobs just want a degree and don't necessarily care what king of degree.

I've got 4565 grimoire. I'd consider myself above average when it comes this game. It's a clear indication who has had more dedication and who is more experienced in my opinion

It's not important now. However I think later on like near the end of the games life (not that anyone will stay that long) it'll perhaps earn you an emblem. I mean, what else would you get? They hand out stupid emblems like candy. Maybe another dumb all-black shader for people who didn't even need to be "Y1ers to get. Sorry all you grimoire whores but it ain't as important as you think. I'm not even 4000 G and I've beaten every raid many a times.

If your grim is 3000 that tells me you didn't ghost hunt.... If your 1400-2999 you haven't done a lot. I am at 4340 I have done everything endgame did some hunting, and got the malice,and 45 fragments will boost it. I look at grim to see there experience in the game, low grim don't mean your bad it just means you may have low experience at raids and don't have much time played as high grim players do. So to a point grim matters but after you hit 4000 ( I think you can hit that by just playing idk) you mostly are a solid player.

I've only got 3300 Grimoire because I skipped alot of HoW... But I'm 304 have beaten the raid multiple times, usually leading it, I do great in strikes and depending on the situation I usually fair pretty well in crucible. So it doesn't necessarily say much about skill, but I could see where it comes into play.

Got 4100 and I quit playing for 6 months, and I didn't even see HoW. I don't have all the ghost too. Yes, it's a skill thing. Doing some strikes with some randoms that have -3500 and they just literaly die every minutes lol You will understand when you'll try to kill the 2 brothers in heroic with 2 -3500 grimoire randoms and it took you 3 try or even more lol

There's a quiet group of 'elite' grimoire hunters called Grandmasters of Grimoire. We don't consider Grimoire a TRUE measure of skill, but it does show dedication, determination and a desire to be everything we can. And honestly, it shows. When I raid or do activities with other GoG members, we decimate activities in record times, trounce most opponents and we're usually all laughing and giggling at stupid stuff when we do it. Hell, the team I usually play with start beatboxing when we're killing Oryx or taking potshots at the rest of the team for silly reasons like their ship choice or shader. "BRO. Ceres Gelliot is so HoW. What you doin' bruh?! We're in TTK times!" And I always leave those games after completion smiling. Grimoire, for me, gives me a damned good idea of how stress free a game is going to be and how much trust I can put in the players I'm with. It's such a pleasure getting in to a group, seeing those high tier numbers and just KNOWING by instinct, that my team gon be gud.

All it means is that you have done a lot more things in the game, need it be kill certain bosses or just found some good loot. Does it matter to me, not really. Although do I like having a high score, yes of course I do.

Its like asking why you would play with a lvl 39 before a 37 its all personal preference.. I have a friend that i used to PoE with who grim was really low but knew how to carry himself. If it hurts so much raise you're grim then join tell them to suck it then leave (unless you become what you hate. Think you can trust yourself??)

3 RepliesMy score is sub 3k, I quit destiny about 3 months in because I ran VoG 8 times without a single piece of my armor dropping. I came back with Ttk and cleared the raid on my first attempt. I truly believe I'm just as good as any 4k player in pve. Destiny is a pretty simple game compared to other mmos.

5 RepliesAll Grimoire score is good for is a quick reference to how much time someone has put into the game without looking up the exact playtime. It doesn't mean you're good. It doesn't mean anyone else is below you. It really signifies nothing except when people try to use it to shame others. In that case, it just signifies that those people are pathetic, sad, losers who hate themselves so much that they need to put other people down in order to feel like they matter. Which they don't.

Don't forget the players that switched consoles and lost all of their Year1 stats. I made the switch from 360 to PS4 when TTK released..don't even think I have 2000 grimoire yet on my new account but I still have all the experience. I'm constantly asked how I know so much/am so good at the game with such a low grimoire by people who don't know me.

For how much I feel I've played this game (upwards of 300 hrs since launch) I should probably have a higher grimoire score. It gets to a point where you have to go out of your way to get a higher grimoire, and save a few ghosts or chests, never really tickled my fancy, and thus a sub 4k grimoire. To be fair though I don't actually know what my grimoire score is. Oh and grimoire score raid recruitment Should probably just stick to hours played for raid recruitment. Speaking of.... Looking for raid team, must have my grimoire score or higher, at least 12 days played, everyone my light level or higher, must have more oryx kills than necessary already, be my age or older, and black spindle applicants take priority. Something like that.

Grim show people who essentially have played longer and have put more dedication into the game. I would choose a 4000 grim over a 2000 grim 90% of the time. Because the 4000 will almost always have more knowledge/ skill than the 2000

That you did not play that much and just don't have a lot of all round Destiny experiance. It does not mean I will belittle you and avoid you. Just means you play less than me and know a little less about the game than me. Why is that elitist?
