Something needs to be done to fix this ever increasing problem. I played several crucible matches yesterday, and not a single one didn't have a player quit one of the two teams.
It's rampant in Destiny. I don't know why there is SO MUCH quitting, but I feel like it's getting worse. Vanguard Strikes have an incentive to keep players in the Strike until the end. Where's the Crucible equivalent incentive? Why isn't there a Crucible Tempered buff that increases your chance of rewards dropping for sticking with multiple matches and not quitting?
Start charging a fee to quit before the match ends. 2500 Glimmer or 30 Legendary Marks. 50 Planetary Materials. 50 Weapon parts or Armor materials. It needs to stop.
I think a quitting ban needs to be implemented as well. Quit 1 match in a day - 5 min ban. Quit 2 matches in a day - 1 Hr ban. Quit 3 matches in a day - Banned until the daily reset.
Also, MM needs to better balance teams. If we start 6V6 and two people quit from one team. A player from the other team should immediately be moved to balance the game. Often you end up playing the entire match without getting another person or two. Or people join, see your behind, and quit.

Edited by XLYBAR: 11/19/2015 6:53:02 AMI know this is another thread topic..but it relates to crappy players who have no spirit of gaming Witnessed a ban today - a lag switcher who we reported and I suppose he had enough bad reports against him and he was banned for 2 weeks WHOOT! it Works!! Report lag switchers!! Quitters ruin the game all the same just on a different level. Edit:: The message said he was banned from crucible for 2 weeks and this was for cheating _ I doubt in regular crucible quitters would be banned/suspended but at least their doing something about the cheaters so perhaps in the near future we will see something done about the quitters as well Day 2 of iron banner is seeming much better than day 1...have the quitters just given up...and quit trying? lol
-
2 RepliesYou know what - after reading all the idiot rage quitter comments here I can see that a good 30% of people actually are all about rage quitting And thats about enough to ruin the game for everyone else Wow---it's pretty much exactly what I am seeing on Iron Banner Can we group all the quitters together so they are only paired with each other? Bungie keeps track of how many matches you quit then pairs the quitters with other quitters not with us good honest players who stick it out Let them rage on themselves! Now that would be awesome! If that could be implemented I would instantly forgive Bungie because that would be utterly freakin hilarious quit quit quit quit rejoin rejoin quit quit quit quit rejoin rejoin quit quit quit hahahahaha!! OMG best revenge idea yet! And it would suit them right
-
3 RepliesI assure you that I am bad enough that if I quit, it will help rather than hurt my team.
-
2 RepliesIf i get put into a game thats 15000 to like 5000 u bet im going to quit everytime
-
1 ReplyEdited by Juice: 10/8/2015 4:05:05 AMYour penalties won't stop anyone from playing, temp ban is better. This game isn't competitive enough anyways
-
2 RepliesPeople probably also leave because too many bounties or quests require wins.
-
2 RepliesSbmm/dedi servers would help a lot imo.
-
1 Replysry but if more than 2 people are red baring i leave no point in playing that lagfest
-
1 ReplyCan I get some of these quests done via losing? Nope. Can I get rewards despite all my playtime is me being pummeled? Hah, laughable rng. (I still laugh when I see empty spaces for anyone) I picked up a Cúchulainn-D and its text described how my combat usually goes in the Crucible. "You may die, but you will die on your feet, facing your enemies." I don't quit even in the face of total, utter, abysmal, absolute defeat, but I understand and forgive those who just want the quests done, and pity them for the unfortunate matchmaking that is being done to them.
-
Agree that something needs to be done, but.... yesterday 3 of the games I entered were so far gone they should of ended, I was put on the losing side which had no chance of winning and Im doing my faction quest which requires 10 wins... Why am I going to waste time on a game that clearly I had no chance of winning.... I quit out....
-
1 ReplyIt's because crucible is plagued with game breaking issues, terrible map and mode design, stupid balance, extreme lag etc.
-
Goddamn those are some steep penalties. I could see a loss of maybe a mote of light the first quit and it increases the more you do it in one day and eventually moves to possibly strange coins and legendary marks, but 50 materials or 2500 glimmer is way to much. Often times the people who quit are the ones who are holding back your team because they're going out and just dying constantly and not able to provide and positive force to the team. In all honesty I'd rather 4 v 6 with 4 solid crucible players in hopes that my next teammates are better than the last. More than anything I honestly believe that the crucible needs ranked and unranked playlists. They dont have to add or delete any gametypes, but just as you can choose the normal level (40) version or the heroic 240 light version of a mission , you should be able to choose unranked or ranked control, clash, rift. etc. This keeps the casual players in unranked and the more serious will flock to the ranked matches. This makes it so that people are constantly being pit against people of even skill level. The rank should adjust accordingly to Win/Loss and Kill/Death ratios as well as score per minute or score per game depending on what gametype is being played (Rift vs Clash). And on top of all that, people who RedBar for over a certain amount of time should just be kicked from the game. How many times have I got the drop on a Guardian who is redbarring and because of their connection I end up shooting them for too long because my bullets take a full 2 seconds to register, and then after they die I somehow come to find out they killed me while they were dead with a melee attack. There's absolutely no reason that someone with RedBar connection should be one of the top scoring players, and this happens way to frequently because of the way Bungie has created crucible. But I digress. (Oh I'm fancy huh?) There should be some kind of penalty for crucible quitters, though I think your original proposal is a little too much. Every now and then your crucible team is just wayyyyy to bad and you need to leave - you shouldn't be penalized for that. In addition, every now and then the next game starts without you realizing it and you don't return to orbit in time because of reasons. But seriously, I really think a ranked and unranked option for each gametype would REALLY help filter out the casual from the competitive.

I agree when I join a online game and I see that we are loosing WAY to much to comeback 4500+ I would usually back out... I don't like to but what's the point if my teammates also are leaving
-
1 ReplyI highly dislike quitters as well. If I'm ever playing with a friend or two and everyone else leaves, too bad, I'm leader and we're sticking it to the end. :) I've been left alone against a team of six. I see it as a time to prove your worth. ;) Repairing your k/d is easy. A penalty system would be awesome. Perhaps not with material but a ban on joining as suggested. It also would be cool if you could view stats on players, see who quitters are so you can give them a rating to avoid getting paired up for future matches. I like how Halo was set up.

5 RepliesEdited by draycole: 10/6/2015 6:26:42 AMI'm an avid quitter of crucible matches. Anytime it's a team of snipers. I'm out Anytime they get both heavy ammo spawns. I'm out. No reason to stay behind to die 10 times to tomorrow's answer and radegasts. And it's not like staying in the match gets you anything worth a damn. Woo +12 faction rep. Like wtf? Who gives a rats ass about 12 faction rep
-
4 RepliesSome form of waiting ban would be ideal but I also like the vanguard strike reward system too. I do feel the longer you stay the better the rewards would work better then a temp 15min ban.
-
3 RepliesMeh, they had the perfect system in halo. 3 quits and you get a 10 minute matchmaking ban. Simple.
-
4 RepliesNot for quiting. They might have a legitimate reason. Maybe when you leave mid strike you could have a 10 min cooldown until you can do them again? That would help the PVE side of things (less skipping strikes). Also implement strike voting so it's not as painful. As for PVP, I don't know.
-
2 RepliesI believe they need to introduce a penalty system into matchmaking. Since they already gave use a mercy rule there is no reason for players to quit. I understand sometimes it's the servers or sit happens and you have to get off. But allot of games now have time penalties for quitting. 2min the first time then it goes up 4, 8, 10, 15, 20, 30. For quitting in a certain amount of time since you last quit. Say if you quit a game 2 matches ago it will go up in time. But if it has been a day then it resets. But also bungie is having some server issues and allot of people are getting error codes and getting kicked out. That is the main problem. But once the get that resolved they should do this
-
9 RepliesThose penalties are pretty harsh you know. Not everyone that leaves is a crucible quitter. Sonetimes I have to do something so I have to leave the match. Why should I lose all my resources because of RL things? Perhaps maybe not the first game but the second quit should have consequences at like a tenth of what you put
-
19 RepliesI'm a crucible quitter. Whenever I'm on the top of the team with half the score and we're still losing. I quit. I'm doing this stupid crucible quest. I need wins. Anything less is a waste of time.
-
I dont quit, even when being slaughtered. But more recently I have been having to. Mainly because my two month old son. But most of the time I dont pay attention to my teams count and when we finish a round I see we only had 4. Im like wth happened. One game tho, Zone Control, had 6 we were in the lead. Then couple minutes later we lost all three zones and it is now 2 V 6. Ya...
-
2 RepliesHow about instead of punishing people, reward them for staying in the lobby.
-
5 RepliesWell I always leave a match whenever the people on my team can't kill for shît, which is most of the time. Not wasting my time being tripled teamed by the opposing team constantly.
-
3 RepliesEdited by RedFaceGeneral : 10/6/2015 6:10:12 AMI believe the event surge of quitters is due to the new crucible questline given by Shaxx. You need to get certain amount of kills AND win the game to progress.
-
1 ReplyThey really do need to increase the drop rate in crucible. It seems worse than the HoW days.
