I have Live as well as Plus and PSN almost never goes down for me. Live goes haywire occasionally. As an aside, the PS controller seems more tactile with less dead zone than the XBOX offering.

PSN goes down way more, I would just be patient and not overreact, something like this hasn't happened on while for Xbox, but it happens weekly for PS.
