You do not get the sleeper Simulant from Eris!
You receive it from collecting those fusion rifles you have to turn in for rep at the Gunsmith.
In order to unlock the gun, players first have to collect relics of the Golden Age which have been scattered across the various locations of Destiny. After players bring these pieces back to Banshee-44 (the Tower’s gunsmith), the ancient artifacts trigger a memory in the ancient Exo gunsmith, and he will invite players on an odyssey to repair and reactivate one of the Taken King’s most striking exotics.
Bungie doesn’t want to spoil the story content of this mission, but it did say that there will be unique tasks and objectives required for completion, which might even include puzzles that are too hard for any one player to figure out on their own.
I have received about 5 of the fusion rifles you turn in to the gunsmith. It gives 200 rep. I believe you turn multiple fusion rifles in to make a huge one, the sleeper simulant.
Please stop spreading that you need 50 pieces to make it. That is for another gun I don't know the name of, sorry.

I've gotten one of the relics so far

1 Reply50 pieces is probably the "Touch of Malice"
-
2 RepliesDo I need to save them up or do I just turn them in as I get them?
-
Bump for later

Is there a way to check how many you've turned in? Like do they unlock a grimoire card?

2 RepliesGood to know. Now since someone put it in my mind that the fragments r for a different weapon my train of thought it that they r for oryxs sword? Maybe?

10 RepliesThis is a link to my post on Reddit. Once you collect 4, you have to do something else. The last thing said by the gunsmith was something about trackers making faint music and finding them. What we are guessing is that we have to find something inside of Rasputin, possibly with an advance tracker. And since someone said something about hard mode missions now having slightly different items in them, try doing the hard mode missions for all Rasputin-involved missions.

Calcified Fragments: Insight I have made preparations. If I am defeated I know it will be because my understanding of the universe was incomplete. I failed to anticipate some strategy, some nemesis. (Perhaps Taox, if she still lives.) If I am defeated, I know that I will fall to something mighty. Something that craves might, something that loves what I love, which is the Deep, a principle and a power, the versatile, protean need to adapt and endure, to reach out and shape the universe entirely for that purpose, to mutate and redesign and test and iterate so that it can prevail, can seize existence and hold it, certain that this is everything, that there is nothing to life except living. And it has two faces, yet it is one shape. One face is the objective, which is obvious, and the other face is that will to sacrifice things and ideas for a single mission, the mission of becoming the shape, a shape that will not relent, the utter commitment to survival, to draw the right sword and choose where to cut: to allow this hunger to become your weapon. So I will prepare a book, which is a map to a weapon. And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going. And then they will take up my weapon, and they will use it, they will use that weapon, which is all that I am. And armed thus with my past, and my future, and my present (which is a weapon, a weapon that takes whatever is available, a weapon bound to malice), they will mantle me, Oryx, the Taken King. They will become me and I will become them, each of us defeating the other, correcting the other, alloying ourselves into one omnipotent philosophy. Thus I will live forever. I’ll make sure. The Calcified Fragments lead to the Touch of Malice. Just putting this out there.

4 RepliesI'm confused. I've gotten 3 so far and instantly turned them in, should I be holding on to them instead?

Got one, was wondering what it was used for besides rep.

11 RepliesWhat do you get the fusion rifles from? Strikes? Crucible? Or are they just random rewards from activities?
-
I handed in 7 so far and no quest but i trust that those fusion rifle curios are the key
-
3 RepliesSo I have gotten four of the fusion rifles and turned in 3 when I got them. When I turned in the 4th I just turned rank 2 on my gunsmith rep. Afterwards he gave me a quest call Back in the Saddle and it was for fusion rifles. I got excited since Sleeper stimulant is a fusion rifle. I did the quest and it gave me Susanoo a purple fusion rifle. But I'm not deterred. I still feel this is the way to get the damn gun. I think the quest it gave me was for getting rep up and not for the purple relics. Just thought I'd share this with everyone.
