You do not get the sleeper Simulant from Eris!
You receive it from collecting those fusion rifles you have to turn in for rep at the Gunsmith.
In order to unlock the gun, players first have to collect relics of the Golden Age which have been scattered across the various locations of Destiny. After players bring these pieces back to Banshee-44 (the Tower’s gunsmith), the ancient artifacts trigger a memory in the ancient Exo gunsmith, and he will invite players on an odyssey to repair and reactivate one of the Taken King’s most striking exotics.
Bungie doesn’t want to spoil the story content of this mission, but it did say that there will be unique tasks and objectives required for completion, which might even include puzzles that are too hard for any one player to figure out on their own.
I have received about 5 of the fusion rifles you turn in to the gunsmith. It gives 200 rep. I believe you turn multiple fusion rifles in to make a huge one, the sleeper simulant.
Please stop spreading that you need 50 pieces to make it. That is for another gun I don't know the name of, sorry.

Is there anyway to see which ones you've handed in? Each one you hand in has nunber at the end but I don't remember which ones I handed in.

I've said this from the beginning. Finally

3 RepliesBump because important & the wrong information is being spread.
-
I saw an earlier post about those drops having a progress bar along the bottom, and possibly you have to get pocket infinity kills?
-
8 RepliesI think you have to be at least lvl 4 before the quest can be triggered.

7 RepliesEdited by Scum Commander: 9/22/2015 6:07:09 AMI'm already doing his quest. After getting five of those random drops you need to get kills with a fusion rifle then you have to dismantle a bunch. Not sure after that part. Edit : it was for the warlock's fusion rifle.

Anyone else think looking at specific things through a specific guns scope (I'm thinking pocket infinity) would reveal something new? Maybe on the mission with the retinal scanners?

9 RepliesThe other quest is for the Touch of Malice which is on my Warlock. It appears as Classified though. You need 45/50 Calcified Fragments to really get going on the Quest.

2 RepliesEdited by Vreek: 9/20/2015 6:47:47 AMGreetings fellow guardians! I have spent most of my time in The Taken King searching for this elusive gun. I made a reddit post recently (above link) with all of our information and theories regarding the Sleeper. You can add me on Xbox if you wish to work more with me so we can find it sooner. My GT is RangaMan123.

47 RepliesEdited by VapinBot: 9/20/2015 9:21:39 AMYou need to listen for the music guardians. Cayde-6 tells you that the other ones have an active beacon. The beacon emits classical music at a low tone. I keep hearing this very music in random places while on patrol. Hint: the first one is in the forgotten shore on earth. That should help everyone out. My bad, I'm drunk. Not cayde-6, but banshee.

Makes a post saying he "knows" how to then say he "believes" you do something for it to work. Smh

Check reddit for more info, apparently the physical bonus content of the Collector Edition is also linked to the quest, people found different symbols when using blacklight on some parts. People have different symbols, so this could refer to the part where they say it's too hard for one player to figure out on their own ! I'm getting my CE today, i'm going to check that ASAP :) Also there seem to be 4 of the old fusion rifles parts then they stop dropping once you give them all to Banshee. All in all this quest seem really great, it's worth checking out what people post on the reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/searchforthesleeper cheers guardians

Maybe you have to reach gunsmith rank 5 to get the quest.

4 RepliesEvery time someone says sleeper stimulant I think of Bill Cosby
-
I think people are getting ToM confused with sleeper simulant. One of the quests requires you to get 50 hadium flakes.

8 RepliesThat's for the light of malice whatever it's called

2 RepliesEdited by XShadow0MasterX: 9/21/2015 1:37:35 PMI have a feeling that they may only drop twice per planet. I've gotten 2 from the moon and 2 from Mars so far. Edit: Theory no longer seems to work.
-
I looked in Destiny DB and found that there are only 4 legendary, quest related fusion rifles. So, they are part of one clue. The rest require codes and an Exotic core of some sort.
-
1 ReplyBump for later.
-
I figured those fusion rifles were just for rep, good to know. I must be getting pretty close now, I think I'm at like 3-4 of em.
-
2 Replies50 pieces are for Touch of Malice
-
I have gotten 5 thus far, 2 on cosmodrome, 1 Venus, 1 moon and one Mars. I'm guessing you need 2 from each destination (10 total) before you get the next step.
-
9 RepliesI've got like 5 but I keep Turing them in because at the moment i am more focused on the ace of spades.
-
So the drops are totally RNG?
-
1 ReplyIt's probably a requirement of a certain rank with the gunsmith as well.
