It all started when TDB was released and vendor gear was better than vault gear. I feel with every expansion that comes out players get worse and worse at raids in particular vault of glass. Who thinks that most players won't even be able to beat the Oryx raid?
Edit 1 - I realize this post maybe confusing to some and that I do not want to help new players. What I should have said was that I am sick of people being 34 with decent grimoire lying about skill level. I'm not the best but generally I let someone know if I can't do something in a raid for example I can't run sword at crota.
Edit 2 - I am 282 light level currently for taken king is 300 the cap?
Edit 3 - So now that kings fall is out are some people having a hard time with underleveled players at Oryx, as in dps on Oryx?

When I would get a Templar CP I would always try and go solo and -blam!- around with the relic until I was very comfortable with it if I needed to run it for any reason

i honestly cant say ive run into this problem to much but then i only play with friends or friends of friends.

1 ReplyThis happened to me yesterday I was taking some friends through( none of which have gone through VoG before.) And asked for an experience player to come help. There was a lvl 34 titan that join and I figured "hey he's level 34 he probably knows what he was doing." It took 2 hours to complete VoG

3 RepliesTechnically, vendor gear wasn't better, from a perk standpoint. I used my warlock last night in the Crota raid, which I created recently. It doesn't have any of the armor because I haven't used it much. The defense is higher, but mot having perks like orbs from hive melee kills sucks.

I've done crota a couple times but every time I've attempted the vault it's chaos. Wish I could run it with a good group that could help me better understand what I'm doing lol. I'll be getting at that oryx raid though. Kinda stoked I won't be the only noob for once haha
-
Can you blame them??? Like you said available vendor gear. Also people cheesing sections. Its actually going to be funny if the new on has been decheesed. Not many people will finish it.

Even after TDB we ran VOG for the weapons. A 300 fatebringer was still a beast vs 335 weapons in PvE.

8 RepliesWow, people act like they're getting paid to play this or something. Who is anybody here to say what people can and can't play and at what particular difficulty levels? People can play this GAME any way they please. So sorry if your elitist experiences are ruined by the casual gamers out there!

2 RepliesRaid. People dont even know how to play nightfall. I mean its right there, burns; solar and void... Random shoots with arc or no-burn primary and Omolons in special and heavy.
-
3 Repliesyou teach you add people to your friend's that want to learn eventually you don't need lfg
-
You know 3 manning the vault is easy now? even if all the noobs die you should be able to complete it. A friend and I were the only ones left on the second and third phase of confluxes, still made it. So I don't see the problem here.

1 ReplyI hate when 34s can't do VoG or Crota hard, mainly when they tell me they've never done it legit, annoys the shit out of me
-
1 ReplyI haven't beaten any raid yet because NONE of the ppl one friends list play Destiny any more. It's not MY gods damn fault!
-
Light level 34 was incredibly easy to attain, the new system is based off what you worked for in terms of gear, so that should show whether someone is experienced or not
-
Even worse are guys like my buddy in our clan. Who has done each raid well over 60 times and until this week never touched the relic or the sword. But would talk smack if a random would screw up. So us as a clan decided to sit and wipe on crota until he either killed Crota as sword bearer or. Left ... Many tries later he knows how to do sword. Same for relic. He learnt haha
-
I concur to some degree. It's frustrating as all hell when you're on Atheon, and have to run it like 10 times because people either don't know how to do Mars/Venus part by now or just can't work together as a team. Admittedly I never run shield, but I usually run sword on crota now
-
1 ReplyI tried to solo it I got to oracles so maybe people would join but nope nobody
-
Ran into a group of 34's the other day that didn't know about middle strat.
-
Just wait for level 40s not knowing how

5 RepliesEdited by Meliwinks: 9/14/2015 9:57:37 AMYesssssss.. or Crota's End, for that matter. It is pathetic. Edit: and running sword is not too hard, on a hunter at least. Run the crota boots, and bladedancer with max agility, and the invis. melee. -Whack him 3 times, -drop sword, -melee, -pick up sword, -wait until Crota no longer says "immune", -have team fire again, -whack him 3 times and gtfo.. It just takes some practice and getting used to the timing on things, it also helps to have at least one or two experienced teammates who know when to fire, etc.

4 RepliesAnyone else sick of elitists that consider it too much of a problem to explain how to do raid phases to people who don't know how?
-
Agreed, what's worse is when they act like they've done it, yet clearly haven't..
-
I tried VoG for the first time, got a bunch of ransoms in the tower, got to the mark of negation, everyone leaves.

I am completely with you on this. I am one the people in this community who actually joins multiple raid teams and helps out raid teams. I however am starting to stop this as I have noticed like you have, a HIGH number of NEW level 34's who have been CARRIED through raids and haven't actually bothered to take the time to learn how to do them. I believe if they do NOT know how to do the raid, they should be going into NORMAL versions of them and taking the time to learn like the rest of us. NOT expecting US to carrying them. Teaching someone in hard mode is a lot more tedious and frustrating than it is in normal. props to you for saying this.

My friend is 34 and we just ran him through his first VoG game ever. He has the game on ps4 since day 1 just never had done it. He just got it on XB1 4 days ago and is already 34. We ran him through it and he followed directions easily and we had only like 3 wipes. Pretty good. But yeah I do agree some who don't know what to do don't follow instructions or are impatient and it messes every thing up. I don't mind helping but following instructions and having teamwork and paying attention needs to show.

10 RepliesMy clan was just talking about this. Its crazy to go in to a CE raid and listen to random groups argue about who is gonna the abyss. Or they have no clue how to build the bridge with teamwork. No idea how to clear oracle cp unless they wipe so they can be up top to snipe. No one took the time to learn to raid properly.
