The issue of Crucible; Vex Mythoclast
We all know this is an issue. It isn't news to anyone, but it does need to be talked about and talked about until something is drastically done to amend the issue; Vex Mythoclast.
Any rumble match I've played in, the Vex user will be at least top 2. without question. Tonight, I've been playing in clash and control matches again at least 2 players with Vex; in those games I was only ever killed by Vex players (that isn't an exaggeration, there were whole games where I was only killed by the players using the Vex).
When I hear that gun, I know I'm in for a bad game. When I've killed by only that gun, all the enjoyment of this game is sucked out of me. Right now I'm trying to get bounties done with a friend and hopefully having fun with the game at the same time, but I have yet to have a game without playing against a Vex user and quite frankly I'm sick of it.
I'm trying to have fun with this game, and it was fun for a while, but above all else in the Crucible the biggest problem right now is the Vex Mythoclast.
I have no respect, care or time for the people using it, but I can't blame them either. It stems from the design of the gun.
This needs amending, the issue has been an issue for as long as the gun has existed. So why is this issue still not being addressed? Why are we, players of the Crucible, accepting this bull? I know there are glitches and stuff in raids, but this is actually making the Crucible near unplayable in some situations.

Whether it's Skirmish, Control, Clash, Salvage, Combinded Arms (havn't played to much of that, to be fair though) the teammates somehow can still suck so bad that you make up half of the teams entire score, where as the only gamemode is Rumble, but it's boring and slow paced. I love playing as a team and don't mind losing (hell, the one with our fireteam against 6 randoms being 17k - 20k was probably the funnest match I've had in quite awhile!) if the game were evently matched such as that game was; but it's not.

Run a long range handcannon or scout and fight it from range. Due to the bullet velocity they'll hardly ever hit you and if they do they won't be scoring headshots (which is where the vex gets all its damage). Learn to counter people. If a weapon is op in its range, DON'T FIGHT IN ITS RANGE

If the impending fusion spread nerf ends up impacting the vex's accuracy at range it'll pretty much take care of its self. The vex isn't anymore problematic in crucible than a regular fusion rifle.

3 RepliesWhat's this? Another scrub who doesn't have the Vex bitching about it? Shocking!!! Get one and you will see it is not OP extremely lackluster in PvE and ok in PvP. Suros or a skilled hand with a scout or hand cannon outweighs the vex.

I don't get how everyone complains about the Mythoclast. I have it, it's ok. &. I've been killed by it maybeeeeee 6 times out of my thousands of deaths. Shotguns are what I think are op in crucible

Don't feed me that limited range crap either, the way the PvP maps are designed you rarely find yourself out of its range.

The vex mythoclast isnt even that good anymore. You can easily outgun it.

I gotta be honest with you man. You're making it sound like you want it nerfed so you don't ever die to it again. Saying that you died exclusively to the Vex in any game just screams bullshit to me. It's a great gun, but there are plenty of others that are just as great. Sounds to me like the guy wielding it was just better than you. Get over it.

Your k/d is pretty bad, I'm sure not all of your ton of deaths was from a vex. nice try but get better at the game before you complain

I hardly ever die to the vex. But that's because I use Suros and thorn. Got to use a top tier gun to beat another top tier gun. That's just the way this game is.

Bungie said they want the mythoclast to be the best Pvp weapon. Look it up.

Edited by Ueter: 2/16/2015 1:10:39 AMIt is a great gun but honestly compare it to TLW and Thorn. Pretty equivalent power levels. Add in some of the better assault rifles such as suros regime. Then add in almost any fusion rifle and or shotgun. All these balance out the vex. I think if you looked at the population of vex users you would see a player base that has put more hours into the game and as a whole are more experienced and better players. Your confusing better players with a weapon that they use. Not all weapons in crucible were created equal. Meaning not only may you be facing better players but you yourself may be using a sub optimal weapon.

24 RepliesSTOP. You PVP players do this way too much. The vex had 52 shots before and was awesome in PVE. Then you all cried and we ended with 32 shots and a damage nerf. Players like you are the reason we get constant nerfs. The vex is a hard to earn gun, don't be upset it kills you. Having it also doesn't make you a god. I have it, I suck at crucible. What if we PVE players started asking for buffs on all the weapons you PVP players hate? (Shotguns,fusion rifles) We don't, we just play the game the way it is. Which is what what PVP players should be doing. Less time whining , more time practicing to get better.

Well its one of the two hardest guns to get so it should be one of the best guns. Thats also how games like this work grind and raid for best gear and have an advantage over others with weaker gear, thats how its supposed to be.
