They still make bolt action rifles today, most sniper rifles today are still bolt action. Less moving parts, more control, more accurate, less jams, easier maintenence, more reliable. I can go if more is needed. So if your going on about technology and real world application the fact of the matter is a sniper sits for THAT 1 shot, for hours if not days. The loading mechanism whether it be breach loader or any sort manual loading vs. an automatic fed style doesn't change the caliber of the round or how much damage the weapon does. So you saying it's a bolt action and it should suck is asinine.
