I'm looking to buy a legendary auto rifle from the vanguard robot guy. I've heard a lot of players talk about shadow price but not doctor nope. I play 80% pve and 20% pvp... which one should i buy?

Thanks again everyone. Im leaning more towards shadow, but i have a bout a week before i can buy either one. Thanks

1 ReplyI had two Shadow Price ARs from random drops this weekend. Seems pretty stable but I don't use them much.

8 RepliesIf you find a shadow price, it's so much better than the one sold by the vendor.

If you ever get the chance I'd HIGHLY recommend the Vanquisher VIII. It requires New Monarchy rank 3 and a lot of crucible marks though.

Edited by Rexty: 10/12/2014 3:51:04 PMPve: shadow price = found Dr. Nope with the extreme stability perk > All other nopes Pvp any shadowprice > any Dr. Nope Nope has just to little range and only useful in close quarter fights but here are waiting the shotgun guys to blow your ass

Neither atheons epilogue

Shadow price is an amazing weapon. As of this moment it does as much as a fully upgraded suros regime. I use it along with my ice breaker and wouldnt change it at all.
-
Dr Nope. I got it as a drop though and the stats are better than the one on sale. It chews through everything. That 72 round magazine is insane. Great pvp, too.

2 RepliesAnyone know if shadow price is better than grim citizen ?

In PVE Dr Nope is a freaking chainsaw. Mine has over-penetrating rounds and is devastating to enemies who like to stack up. Because of the low impact and high recoil it needs to be paired with a secondary with good range. For the raid I like to run Nope and Ice Breaker. The Doctor just mows down those vex.

Shadow Price by far, I love that gun so much that I bought 3 of them for each one of my characters.

1 ReplyI have both. The shadow Price was bought from the Vanguard vendor and I got my Dr Nope from the post for upgrading my Vanguard rep. I went with the Dr Nope as it got both the persistence and balance perks plus the fast reload when the 72 round mag runs out. Combine that with the faster reload on my gauntlets and the Dr is a minigun! You can just hold down the trigger and march forward. Its very stable now its fully upgraded. The Shadow Price is all unlocked as well but once you rein in the Dr and pair it up with a decent fusion rifle its a great combo. Depends on your style but im having allot of fun with the Dr Nope and going back to the Shadow Price feels clunky and awfully slow now. Im looking for the Vanquisher as its the split between the two by the looks of things.

4 RepliesShadow Price by far.

I bought Dr. Nope to inject a little fun into daily patrols and bounties (I use hand cannons for most things), I couldn't recommend it for anything other than that.
-
Doctor Nope was my first legendary weapon, but I got it from a random drop so it wasn't the same as the one you can buy. I used it for a bit but when I could afford Shadow Price I bought that instead, and broke down Doctor Nope to upgrade it. Shadow Price all the way for me.

Not tried shadow prince but I love my Dr Nope. OK it has low impact but omg rate of fire. I normally burst fire with it to counter its slight recoil but its not bad on full auto. Plus it has a 72 round clip and with the right armour you can carry 999 rounds.
-
Shadow Price all the way. The improved accuracy and range perk makes it an auto-sniper.

I have shadow price...definitely a really good gun. Will probably only replace with exotic. Get it

The version of Doctor Nope currently on sale has some decent upgrades in its tree. I would really look at it like this: Do you prefer to have a steady, powerful stream of bullets hitting your target? (Shadow Price) Or do you prefer lots of bullets that don't do as much damage? (Doctor Nope) If you consider the fact that firing more bullets just means more of them can miss their target then usually Shadow Price will win out. However the cumulative effect of Doctor Nope's hail of bullets is that it more frequently causes staggering and can be used more effectively against shielded enemies where it is more about the impact than the damage.

For PvE, I'd go with Doctor Nope.
