Why can't we change our guardians race?
With the new feature to change body types on your guardian why haven't the added the change race option too? I think its only fair as I'd love to change my hunter but I can't. I think we should have the freedom of choice.

You can, anytime you like. Delete the character and start again but this time make sure you do it correctly. Or don’t worry about it, it’s not important in the slightest

Zombie soldiers function better and are logically superior as Exos than organics. It’s not rocket science. My lot identifies as Exos…have done for some time. I’ve posted about this to enquire from BHQs big cheeses why my Boyz’ feelins are not getting the appropriate attention…never mind a recognition pin/shader/emblem/ring/jacket/plush toy or sumfink nice? 🫠 BHQ responded: cue <crickets> 🤡 SNAFU 🙄 Ease springs! 🤫

This could be a result of the common game dev practice of linking disparate lines of game code together to reduce file sizes. This fact is aptly demonstrated in videos describing a variety of bugs used in speedrunning a wide range of games, such as ACE (Arbitrary Code Execution). With several years worth of interconnected coding that was linked to save space under the assumption that a Guardian’s Race would remain an unchanging constant, there’s the very real possibility that we were not given the option to swap Races because the devs would have had to make time consuming changes to large, complex game systems to prevent massive breakdowns in game functionality. 2 RepliesIs it really that hard to take all your posessions from one character, vualt them (except for some crappy deleteable items to have equipt) delete the character and then create the one you want? I totally get the bait and why its being put out there.. I even found it kinda funny to think about this situation and held some restraint in a more humorous reply.. Seriously though.. the answer is pretty clear. Kill/delete the one character and create a completely new one and be done with it.

It’s probably not that simple to just change the race of your guardian, given there are in game dialogues that change based off what race your guardian is. With that and just the general oddity of having a character change from an exo to an awoken, it probably made the most sense to leave that part unchanging

1 ReplyI agree with this completely. I accidentally made two humans and an Awoken a decade ago. I also believed in the Free Market and Democracy. We all make mistakes. One do-over is not too much to ask.

With the "gender appropriate" signaling we see everywhere else in the game I'm surprised we can't change everything. It would only make sense. But then again, Bungo ain't all about sense.
