• It’s the problem with trying to start a new saga. Apathy is inevitable and the biggest issue Bungie should try to tackle. Bungie should really push forward what their plans are for a new “big bad”. Even if they don’t name it, dropping hints in the coming months would be an amazing strategy (treat us like we’re in Shadowkeep or forsaken and not back at Vanilla D1) so we’re not just left looking for what’s next. Episodes being completely disconnected and non-linear I don’t think is a good thing. It’s easier to interact with for new players, but it means that each episode won’t build. Each will be judged based solely on their own merits. A lack of through-line is going to be huge here. If they want to keep interest, the stories need to be linked somehow otherwise the universe they created fractures. (Just like what happened to Marvel)

    • Of course it is. TFS is nowhere near as good as the shills and paid reviews would have you believe. QoL hasn't been this bad since D2 Y1. I for one welcome our new Sony Overlords.

      • It was pretty much a given that we would feel like this after the big finish. A huge rush followed by "what now?" After beating The Witness I felt a little directionless & wasn't really interested in spending more time in The Pale Heart. I did do some Overthrow & aspect/fragment stuff but it got old quick. Hopefully Act 2 picks up. We'll see. I've got most of what I want done, so I'm easing off a bit. I'll check in Tuesday etc & do the odd 'thing' here & there. The invisible guns in Patrol isn't helping either. Some of the buggy stuff jus piles on top of the drop in momentum.

Always going to happen. The ending to this so called saga was not a bang but a whimper. The campaign missions were just pointless raid mechanic busywork with health gated bosses. The so called story was told in cutscenes with the usual standard of "writing" we have come to expect from people who think a man and his robot boyfriend's emotional incontinence is really like, hitting you in the feels man. Whatever they are. And they recycled the Red War angle of the Vanguard "Leaders" just noping out whenever things get tough. Again. I was expecting Ghaul to appear again. I mean, why not, he's been used in everything since the Red War. Episodes are just the same cut and paste "events" we have had for years where we throw or dunk orbs and then fight a bad guy at the end, just time gated even harder, and with a Season Pass full of stuff you earn in game anyway. Wow, 30,000 glimmer as a rank up reward .. Thank You Bungie. Everything in this game, and I mean everything, is designed to keep you playing rather than you actually wanting to play. So much pointless repetition. Like the endless running everywhere in so called quests. Or the "Do these six missions again on both of your other characters". All so that Bungie can make a little presentation to Sony about how much we are playing. The game is bugged to the neck right now, so many issues not even addressed and all Bungie are doing is telling us in the TWAB, TWID or whatever that they are cooking something really big for next February at the earliest and that they are making their biggest ever Exotic mission. Which we we all know will be the usual river of ads that are all more powerful than us, bound to be some raid mechanics in there as well after the skip lickers went all squirty for Dual Destiny, and it'll all be for a gun that no one will care about a week after it lands. Because you'll have to go back and do the Legend version to get anything like a decent roll. Like Whisper. And Outbreak Perfected. It'll be probably be set up so you have to play it with a second cousin on a rainy Tuesday, with a mic, in the dark while eating a pizza, or not at all. The numbers are plummeting. Steam barely cracks 100k these days after over 300k at launch. And before anyone rocks up with "Yeah. but yeah, like all games see a drop off at launch" .. please. if this game is such a ten out of ten surely it would at least hold the majority of it's players ?? .. let alone attract new ones. They do arrive but having seen how nothing is explained, and what a grind it is, most of them leave. What's to stick around for ?? .. yet another episode of Saint and Osiris do relationship therapy ??, the time gated reveal of what we all know will be yet another big bad that will be the worst big bad yet, until the next, much worse, big bad turns up ??. more battlegrounds ??, two weeks of Iron Banner ??, more nerf's to anything that displeases the streamers ??, more Eververse loaded events with "rewards" so thin you could read a paper through them ?? No thanks. This game has had it's day. Even the leaders are leaving Bungie and moving on to better things.

          • It was bound to happen....so many issues that so many players are unhappy with, yet nothing is being addressed. Final Shape has become the Final Straw for a lot of players, who have lost interest and opted to stop playing altogether.

              • Holy -blam!- people. Why do people forget about this crap happening every single time an expansion releases. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!! The only mass apathy occurring is with the solo only community being butt-hurt for choosing to sit out of Dual Destiny.

                • What is "Careful Mass Apathy"? Is it like apathy, but a more careful and larger variant? Over the weekend I hit my wall of apathy, not because of any issues with the game, more so because of what the game is. Grind to get better gear. Get better gear to increase power. Increase power to take on harder content. Take on harder content to get better gear. Get better gear to increase power. And the cycle continues. When the content is new and fresh, when you have something that you want to grind for, it's easy to overlook the repetitious core mechanics of the game, but once you've run out of things to do or things to chase, it just becomes dull doing the same things every time you boot the game up. I tried switching it up by unlocking prismatic for my hunter, but found the fact you have to re-run the side missions to unlock the extra abilities tedious, so off to play something else for awhile...

                      • Anyone whose apathy ever subsided was kidding themselves with all the fancy explosions and bright colors from the TFS trailers. Destiny is far from ever being saved or restored to a halfway decent state. Prepping for Season of Discovery P4 and getting into the OSRS Varlamore content has been beyond refreshing. Even started tearing into my backlog. Only thing that got me into wanting to even remotely give them money was playing the entirety of Lightfail virtually for free. Waiting for TFS to go on sale out of principle. I'm ready for one last campaign with my Hunter. I'm not giving that company retail money for their thrift store effort over the years.

                      • I have lowered my expectations for gaming in general. I don't really expect too much out of it now. I got to do a gm this week and a dungeon. I'll probably do the episode activity on legendary one more time then wait for reset. I could try to get prophecy done but meh. It's not a big deal to me power grind is boring. I did one reset of each pathfinder this week. One was enough. Pathfinder is too tedious. They want you to live in the core game modes now that no one really enjoys after the first few runs your kinda like yeah I'm done.
