Giving me headaches. I’ve soloed every dungeon, a few GMs, but this callus fight is just bad design. Who would ever choose to fight with no cover and being constantly surrounded by enemies. Art of war, you don’t enter this type of combat. I’m done for today. Don’t know when I’ll play again. I used to be passionate about this game, now it is a chore.

9 RepliesCan’t wait for the “git gid” comments. I think it took me like 50-70 attempts - no cheese - spread out over like 6 hours with breaks. Calus has so much HP, if you count his second phase, a super doesn’t even do 1/6th of his health. Tormentors are insane. Ammo issues galore. Most of the time was just spent running waiting for abilities to recharge and find ammo. Only other option was plinking at his over shield with primary.

1 ReplyI enjoyed the campaign but the final boss battle (on legendary) was not fun!

1 ReplyEdited by Icy Hot Todoroki: 3/7/2023 1:19:03 AMwe should all blame Saltagreppo for making this game unfriendly to beginners. He's seriously worse than even Luke Smith

3 RepliesIRL: Sometimes you don't get to "choose to fight", sometimes you just "HAVE" to fight... If you don't want the difficult challenge of "end-game stuff", then why not just wander around Neomuna shooting rando's from nice comfy cover?

5 RepliesOr or or OR NOW HEAR ME OUT. Just beat him on normal if you care about it that much.

3 RepliesEdited by Say Whatt: 3/7/2023 3:10:00 PMMost things in this game have always been so easy to complete! They increase the difficulty a bit and actually create a challenge and you just give up? Find a couple people to help you. Ive never solo’d a GM (never tried) but completed Calus (solo legendary) pretty easily. I can give you my tips if you’d like!

1 ReplyU must really suck

6 RepliesThat boss fight was legitimately easy lol

1 ReplyWhy can't some just learn to let it go and just not play it anymore or take a break. The hive mind behavior from all sides is bizarre and like some form of mass psychosis. If it isn't fun, play something else.

1 ReplyBooping is the killer.

Do what I did, get a friend lol. I soloed the whole story too all the way until calus and I had to ask for help because I just couldn’t beat him on my own. Thankfully we have checkpoints so you can leave and then come back whenever you are ready

1 Replyi spent 4 hours trying to solo it and 1 hour doing it with a friend, failed every time next day i turn the terrible game on and i beat the fat f*ck after about 5 deaths because of the horrible strand mechanics, horrible tormentor ability spam, and the god awful game physics

I feel sorry for new players being injected into a storyline that is half way through and no ability to experience anything that was vaulted.

2 RepliesIf you've done those things, how can't you do this fight? It's not that bad at all. Sheesh people
-
1 ReplyI did it solo on the fifth try I think. Not bad.

Suspend grenades and hide under stairs.

Esoterickk on YouTube has a good cheese method. It's how I beat Calus on Legendary after trying for an hour. Getting booped off the flippin' map when his health is low is infuriating.

Yea it's just a poorly designed encounter that is not actually remotely fun to play at all. A real slog. In general everything new in lightfall is badly designed/poorly executed. Been playing this game since D1, but I'm pretty over it. Glad I only bought Lightfall and not full annual pass, been seeing the warning signs but thought campaign would at least be comparable to WQ. Unfortunately it was pretty disappointing, Calus fight sealed it for me. Was the moment I fully realized this release is absolute dog-sh!t... Will eventually beat him, maybe play a bit more than I'm out. Don't think I'll be getting Final Shape even if it turned out to be great as Bungie has successfully got me to lose interest and faith in the potential of destiny as a franchise. Bungie is the real destiny killer. RIP.

4 RepliesEdited by Grim: 3/5/2023 10:34:40 PMBungies idea of difficult- spawn endless waves of bullet sponge enemies and give you no cover. Just a word to the wise for something to be considered difficult it has to still be doable but challenging. I swear solo legend while using the strand super on hunter and having to deal with endless enemies was impossible. Tormentors spawned in twice and then there's a second phase were your pulled in even closer while he chased you with twin blades nah its a joke that fight was a joke and not the funny kind either its the kind that was at your expense. I solo the whole legendary campaign no problem it just took some quick thinking but that fight was impossible to solo legend on hunter it may have been doable on the warlock or titan but hunter is squishy and gets one tapped too easily. God that fight p!ssed me off.

Just cheese it

Osteo Blinding GL retrofit escapade Keep the pad you are on. Blind everything and kill it with Osteo before it can get to the pad. Blind the tormentors and use Osteo and retrofit to hit the crits. The tormentors will actually back away if you blind them where the boss is. Use strand and Osteo for the second phase. Spider-Man it back and forth in the middle shooting Calus as soon as you land. I struggled as well before getting the right strat and gear. Paul tassi used this strat and it works great.

3 RepliesEdited by NoNopeNoway: 3/6/2023 6:02:57 AMHope someone can change your mind. You are one of two people who let me play with them on missions and it would be difficult to lose you. Bungie will have to change somethings. If they play the game themselves, then it would change in a hurry. Anyway, I hope you stay around.

Edited by Tower Janitor (Adept): 3/5/2023 11:03:06 PMThere is cheese, it will be patched this week so I will just tell you. The stairs you walk down to start the fight, there's a pipe under them, you can access this pip to the side of the stairs. Get to the pip walk underneath to the center and shoot for a few seconds. Fight will start, walk back so you can see through the stairs. Kill calus by shooting through the stairs. When phase two starts just walk to the middle like you did to start the fight, wait for bubble( not necessary i think) and Walk back to the edge of the bubble. Carefully inch to the right of the pipe against the bubble. Calus will walk to where you can shoot him, he will walk over and stare at you occasionally walking away but very slight movements will make him walk back. Its kinda tedious in phase 2 but its guaranteed. I did it after trying for hours with constant IRL interruptions and my wife being unable to do it while co-op. Edit: my wife us a capable player but struggling with strand and we thought we had to use it.

14 RepliesI want to know the genius behind the idea to make the game even more of a hamster wheel grind than it already was, which had already ruined my love for Destiny. I was that player who would pull an all-nighter every Thursday night excited to see what Xur had for us on Friday. I was that player who put Destiny friends on speed dial. Then D2 happened and what was already a full time job became untenable. No hamster. No more.

1 ReplyThe Calus fight is way easier than any solo GM apart from maybe Saber and Arms dealer lol

1 ReplyYou’ll be back for the raid stop it lol
