Like for real, we've adapted our brains to be satisfied with far below average copy and paste content for far too long now. Despite all the controversy around hogwarts legacy, that dev team has pulled it off and opened my eyes to how much of a night and day difference quality and passion vs copy and paste, lazy, zero inspiration and passion (destiny 2) content is. It's is insane how terribly dull and uninspired Destiny has gottten over the years. I think back and look at the leviathan playspaces, the og iron temple in D1, the dreadnaught, the dark forest, "the nine" areas, the dreaming city. And now? Reissues on top of more reissues and everything feels the same. Nothing cool or exciting or mindblowing. I don't know, i think this dev team needs to fully be replaced or something at this point or if the team is just way too tiny to give them creative freedom, they need to shift more devs to D2 again. It is easily acceptable if you don't play many other games. Once you taste elden ring, god of war or hogwarts legacy now, you see D2 with different eyes. And yea i know i am comparing single player games to a live service game. Bungie once stood for quality tho and the above mentioned timespans from D1 and D2 up until year 2 literally had that magical quality feel to it. We need to stop being okay with mediocrity.
