Maybe it’s just me but anyone playing in such a way that an opposing player can’t even engage in the gameplay because they are dead the whole match is toxic and detrimental to the player base.
Just because spawn camping has been around since online shooters doesn’t mean it isn’t toxic and wasn’t in the past.

Agreed re spawntrapping. It is the most unfun circumstance. It’s why I abhorred Rift in D1, and Dead Cliffs on D2 is literally the epitome of Spawntrap. That map is fn horrible.

I grew up on competitive video games and never thought of it as toxic, just the team is better with map control. Map control, callouts and coordination is what wins games against good teams. It’s either you or them.
