Once again the grind to get shinny armour starts !!! How about new content like strikes, missions and ohhhh not reskin same BS grind to fill in for lack of creativity.

The first solstice I think they named it Age of Triumphs in year one was really great. They reworked a bunch of campaign missions effectively making them nightfall strikes. They were challenging, the rewards were novel, and I enjoyed doing them. The aerial zone somehow manages to be both dull and frustrating.

6 RepliesYeah it is pretty whack funny how they give a shotgun but nerf shotguns at the same time.
-
4 RepliesCongratulations you complains about the easiest set to get that barely required any grind and in something that once a year Don't think D2 for you my guy.....
-
2 RepliesAt least this year theres a reward unlike last year… all be it a meh reward
-
2 RepliesOf course it is. Lacks creativity.
-
20 RepliesNot to mention the armor is absolutely horrible stat wise.
-
1 ReplyIts a glorified everest event. Have u not figured out thats what EVERY event in d2 is?
-
might as well bring back the d1 preview armor as it looked sick in the trailers and games if we could have it.
-
1 ReplyDon't do it, I didn't. Screw that noise. They've gotten very very lazy
-
1 ReplyThe events in this game are really just an everworse advertisement tbh. Nothing surprising there...
-
1 ReplyYup. Big time. I haven't done a single thing. Couldn't do it.
-
2 RepliesJust stop playing, like milions players. Game is designed for casuals that plays month or two, buy some cosmetic trash and leave bored. Plus some content for streamers and addicted 5% to create hype.
-
3 RepliesAll seasonal events are the same snore fest..
-
1 ReplyPretty much, I’ve got 3000+ keys at this point. You’d have to run the EAZ 500+ times if you averaged 5 boxes a run to use them all. It needs to be more generous or a lot quicker to complete.
-
Did the first part of the armor quest, got bored lol
-
Nah, it’s something easy to do while completing activities you’d prolly already be doing. I’m glad they still provide these “free” events.😊

3 RepliesAnd it will keep being the same as long as sales continue, and player counts are up. If players want it to change, they'd have to stop playing. The behaviors they are after are encouraged by carrots in all forms, hamster wheels, shiny objects, "colorful" sounds when obtaining an item/levelling up/completing objective. So then when it comes time for repeatable activities like solstice, Winter, Festival of the Lost, etc... they can relax a little, because no matter how good or bad, players will play it - many of them will complain, and most of them will do it anyway. Some here even condemn others for having an opinion about it without playing for 5,000 hours first. ...As if that changes something about the event. So to unify the player-base, many people have to play the same event to form a similar shared experience before commenting, but by the time that happens - Bungie already has the numbers they need to promote sales of next DLC. I know I can't be the only person who sees this circular repetition.

2 Replies100% agree with you. Most have done this event in the past two years and it does feel samey. I appreciate some may not have done it but Bungie need to give the hardcore player a newer event to add on from this one if previously completed it to keep the player base engaged. I did it previous two years but not doing it this year.

1 ReplyEdited by Grim: 7/18/2021 8:34:10 AMYes and it'll be a snooze fest next year as well and the year after that too. All because bungie never actually changes anything, events or otherwise unless they're forced too because that would require actual real effort on their part. You know I bet we'll still have the same haunted forest in festival of the lost this year too even though the location is long gone. We all need to face the facts all these events are nothing but cash grabs its always been a cash grab there literally been nothing different about any them for years now. Solstice, the festival of the lost,as well as the dawning all the same shit in different baskets evereverse has been the only real thing to get a steady supple of new content the rest of the game has been stuck in a constant cycle of recycled content and its been that way for years. Now it gotten even worse its reached the point that people are asking for recycled content because bungie won't put anything new back in anymore.

2 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 7/18/2021 2:53:30 AMI’m waiting for the day when Bungie hires an event designer that actually gives half a shit about the game and makes something true to the spirit of Solstice. It’s supposed to commemorate our achievements over the past year, and still all we get are the same bounties and activities. Why not actually make a focused set of objectives that give us some perspective on why we did them. Or a fresh set of bounties that adds a new spin on the usual grind we perform endlessly over and over. It’s just filler. It’s more grind to keep us playing until the next season. There’s no reason to play it other than to give us mindless crap to do in a game we enjoy playing but desperately need some fresh motivation to play. In the end it’s yet another example of how obvious it is that Bungie doesn’t actually care about the player experience. If they did, you’d think they would show a little more effort.

1 ReplyI havent played for a while, and the progress is pretty quick, so for me it's not too bad. Tower grandma narrative is cringe
-
I got my hunter clock w/glow. Turned it into an ornement. I’m good
-
4 RepliesI haven't done Solstice since year one. Waste of time.
-
wish it was SRL
-
Meh, I just like the orb charge ups in Crucible, that adds at least a LITTLE flavor to the currently RAW state the PvP is in but god forbid a FPS game has almost as good of a feel as Destiny does.
-
4 RepliesPaul Tassi was saying something similar and pointing out how the Solstice Armor looks exactly the same as last year. Like identical. And honestly, it’s quite sad Bungie is that lazy.
