2 RepliesEdited by DriftedColt8917: 11/24/2020 11:32:42 PMNot sure what the issue is, you do know you can chain stun them right? Use surge eater and a stasis/solar sub class and just throw grenades. He gets stunned you throw another, and just keep doing it. With solar grenades you don’t even need to shoot them, just keep throwing grenades.

i hate the entire concept of champions, its like "we heard you like bullet sponge enemies so we made a super bullet sponge that can shield and heal while it bullet sponge"
-
Use solar or stasis grenade and actually hit the captain with it, they work and make the captain a literal joke
-
Bring a sword.
-
scout rifle and strafe
-
Stasis - slowing or freezing them works well.
-
Just use two tailed fox. Suppressive rocket shuts em down real good. No disruption, but they don’t teleport and take a lot of damage from both rockets

Edited by Atreuss: 11/25/2020 6:51:50 AMI just did them on the first overload in eventide ruins. Go into legend nightfall and into the start of the lost sector. Equip stasis subclass. Use overload mod with scout and lament. Pick off the four dregs and two vandals before going in. Stager champion with scout, throw dusk grenade on him and then use sword light attacks till you can use your default finisher on him. No teleporting, no bs. Easy peasy. Rinse and repeat. Just make sure to go completely outside the building to make the lost sector reset. I did this at 1242 power level.

Ice grenades seem to mess with the animations. They shoot and do everything like normal, even when over loaded!
-
2 Repliesplus they recover way too fast, your only option is to completley nuke them and kill them in half a second, or get killed when theyre at half health and turn the corner to see them already healed back to full. i reccomend using solar grenades for disruption. i never would've gotten that sweet, sweet, mask of bakris without them.

1 ReplyRegenerating health while frozen solid. Seriously Bungie?
-
Lament pretty much deletes Champions. Best thing is not much ammo is used either.
-
Re tried with a scout vs an auto and it makes a world of difference idk why but the overload rounds for scouts seem to do way more work on them
-
7 RepliesAgreed stasis grenades with overload mod do not work and the teleporting makes sustained fire almost impossible, especially solo
-
I find them odd on my titan. I stagger them but they keep shooting. On my warlock that doesn’t happen. Very odd.
-
4 RepliesI thought about this and isnt it funny how after running the empire hunt multiple times at 1220 difficulty not once did I encounter an overload champ that didn't insta stun whilst I was using duskfield and thermal overload. However in the lost sectors and stuff like that they are "buggy" They seem to work fine everywhere else in the entire game except for the higher tier stuff. Coincidence?
-
1 ReplyThe problem is that shattering a frozen overload allows them to move again. Either use dusk field or just swap to a solar subclass and use solar nades for beter results.
-
4 RepliesAgreed. Somehow they've managed to get even WORSE since last year.
-
Ice wall grenade with overload can stun 3 times. Each chunk of the wall is able to stun. Throw your nade and freeze. Start light sword attack to break wall and stun. When they are about to break out heavy attack and break the rest of the wall to stun again.

Edited by GPrime96: 11/24/2020 9:04:53 AMStasis Grenades really needs a looking at against Overload Captains.

2 RepliesEdited by Shotokan: 11/24/2020 1:42:17 PMUse dust field grenades using those two perks. The first is the stun perk and the other renews your grenade when you stun. Sorry. Can’t remember what they’re called. I’m at work. Anyway. That’s what I used to get my Icefall Mantels 😎 Edit: works best if you wait till the captain has his back turned.

15 RepliesBe patient. They teleport to avoid disruption. Learn their moves and destroy them

Stasis works against champions, meaning freezing them is one mechanic and stunning them is another. They have a serious issue trying to proc at the same time.
-
I have a feeling that the captains (not overload) are having the same speed of teleportation as overload. (Reason why I said that is because I’ve experience them teleporting every shot they take like endermens on rain)

Agreed
