This is a message from the player base to Bungie. They want to play the new content when it comes out. They want to play the dungeon and heroic Contact. That requires a higher light level. Can you really blame them for not wanting do the same old boring dull grind that we've done for YEARS? I sure don't.
It's a mistake to gate new content, like the dungeon, behind power levels. Power progression is not interesting and it's NOT rewarding. Long time players get no satisfaction at all from leveling up. It's a chore, not a feature.
When a new season opens up, the last thing I want to do is play Gambit, Flashpoints, and any of the usual suspects that I had done forever to level up.

I don’t think they care They didn’t the first time when people were farming mats for the tribute hall I bet even The community managers have been forge farming, hell I bet Luke Smith himself afk farms. Bungie knows it’s not fun to level the normal way

1 ReplyDon't worry, they hear us... Don't mean they cleaned their ears out enough to actually listen... But they hear us.
-
4 RepliesAll I know is if I see people complaining that they have nothing to do because they afk farmed and got everything done in one week ima laugh .
-
Agreed!!!!
-
1 ReplyMy only issue is the twats who do it at high power level, like wtf lower to 750 where people are actively not losing their time and progress to you being AFK.
-
Reason why I'm doing it is light catch up. Cannot bring myself to waste 2/3rds of the season to even be able play the content. The game is too consumer unfriendly now.
-
Idk what happened. I just really like forges and suddenly I'm leveled up and ready to play the newer more interesting content. ;)
-
Warning to all, If you’re interested in doing black armory forges do NOT do it solo. Activity is infested by afk players.
-
Bump!

2 Repliesdont be entitled and do your grind for your sweet new reskins like everyone else, do you just expect fun being handed over to you without having to put in any work in a entertainment media you paid for? kids these days...
-
thats cool they can patch it all they want tomorrow lmao ive abused it enough to get the max light u can get from it on the 2 characters i actually play

2 RepliesHonestly I agree with the opening statement. I mean, I was enjoying the new content from the opening bits of the story, the story hooks were there. they had the opportunity to have a STORY DRIVEN mini-expansion and then it fell flat on its face. This grind from last season was so horrible and it's most likely why they are doing it in the first place. especially when the amount of new rewards is so limited and in last seasons case the majority of guns were ass, this dungeon was all about the NINE and yet the thought to not put the old trials weapons in as random rolled rewards is beyond me, the armor is there but not the weapons. But in general this season is already looking better than last season, simply because of the new reward system, shame that its locked behind the season pass.

Amen brother.

No mater how good or bad a game is or how good or bad it’s systems are, people are always going to take the path of the least resistance.
-
shut up. just do it. -blam!- your activism
-
Nah there is no message. Well maybe there is one. A lot of the player base is lazy entitled exploiters that want instant gratification. Lol

10 RepliesEdited by vxvxTITANxvxv: 6/15/2020 4:53:44 PMI agree with you on the power grind being a chore. I hope the new dungeon is fun because that’s the only reason I’m leveling up right now.
-
If they would actually create content beyond public events then maybe people would be more inclined to play. I for one feel like 1 new public event isn’t enough content for 3 months. You already know there gonna do the same thing they did last season.. oh no we need you to bank 892373 million motes! And when no one does it they’ll buff the progress so it looks like people are engaging and shit.

The Message is levelling just sucks atm.
-
Edited by fakkelbrigade: 6/15/2020 7:34:50 PMNo it's not. It is a message to the rest of the playerbase : You can all Go F.U.C.K yourself.
-
Simple stop raising the light every season, once a year is enough. it's stupid and pointless. But we gotta make you players spend your materials um how about seasonal vendor refreshes.
-
11 RepliesYes, it's a message showing how lazy the people doing it are. Imagine buying a game and not playing it.
-
3 RepliesDoesn't matter. I agree but Bungie doesn't have the resources, talent or drive to produce enough engaging content to the point they wouldn't have to extensively pad the seasons with this useless power grind.

3 RepliesThis was the same issue that was brought to light during the Black Armory season. There is a certain pleasure in the season that embraced this mess is the activity used to circumvent this current mess. This is an inherent issue with seasons in general that are always on the lean side of content compared to fall expansion releases. Seasons never provide story missions long enough to advance a players level to participate in the activities provided in the season. The expansions have a storyline that bring players to or close to the levels required to enter the endgame in a relatively approachable way. It’s time to remake the concept of seasons within the destiny IP. Maybe the “season” is just the battle pass. The rest of the content is behind the paywall of the fall expansion. This lessons the FOMO aspect of the current season model and would, hopefully, encourage story building to make activities much more entwined as opposed to just being a limited public event (match made or not.) This is on Bungie though and how much they want to invest in the scope of a years content. Knowing there is no approaching D3 (at least not for several years) it places more pressure to make a year more valuable to a players time. If not, the game suffers a growing apathy as the content doesn’t advance and the images on the screen become far too familiar to drive a “wonder quotient.”

When you get three strait pinnacle drops that are boots and can't get your power level up then farming looks a whole lot better. That makes it tedious when RNG wont get you the gear you need to level up after you have done the bounties and all the things you can do on your own with out needing a fire team that is not on or in a different time zone and has already done what you need to get done. Farm away!
