• I'm calling it now; once this goes through, we'll be able to purchase a consumable for the small price of 1600 silver (this way players have to actually purchase 2000 😈) that will instantly bring one weapon up to current level.

Plot of Destiny 2 Development: Dedicated Destiny 2 Player: I really like using Breakneck Mr. Smith. Its my favorite weapon and I would go through thick and thin with it. Luke Smith: That is great, you have given me all the info I need to make this game even "better"! Luke Smith (Talking on the phone with Bungie Dev Employee): I want you to assemble a team of experts who will finds legendary weapons with 1,000+ kills in Crucible or PVE and make then dissapear from my sight. Unknown Bungie Employee: What shall we do with the exotics sir? Luke Smith: We will get to them later... (sinister laugh into scene closing)

Well I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with D1 and most of D2. Thank you to all the players I have met and played with. I will be departing Bungie games at the end of my paid season pass. Hopefully they will change leadership while I take a long break, and right the ship, like they did in D1. Lukes directors cut philosophy of grinding for the sake of grinding sounds like a big ole hamster wheel to me. That may be fun for a hamster, but definitely not for me as a gamer.

      • The ONLY reason I still play this game is WEAPONS. Take them away and I'm gone. This game is an online shooter, which has great lore, but no storyline, awesome design and gameplay but lot's of bugs, glitches and hackers, this game has intesting pvp aspects(regardless of meta even) but it doesn't have dedicated servers. For every positive thing I can say about this game there's a negative. Raids are amazing, and it's one of the best things in gaming I've ever took part in. And even though 50% of those amazing experiences come from playing with my friends and overcoming the challenges, another 50% come from chasing those rare god rolls(I've got sacred provenance with rapid hit/kill klip over a month ago, but I'm still happy that I got it to this day). And what now? You're telling me that I have this weapon for a limited time, and on top of that you give me the exact day when it's going to become useless?! You can't make someone play a LOOTER-shooter game where the LOOT expires. Especially Destiny. I know probably no one who could prevent this change will ever read this(and even if someone will, it's bungie what's written is going to happen no matter how many people agree with what I said). Meanwhile I think it's time for my guardian to retire. This time for good. Have a good day.

Psstt hey Bungie, Stop letting your evil twin brother Bungo make decisions like Power Capping Legendaries. Seriously, whomever is making decisions like that one is completely out of touch with the playerbase. That’s not at all what we wanted or have the damn vault space for. You got a remedy for that? Or are you going to just say FCK it and completely do away with the vault entirely? Apparently we won’t need it anymore.... You say we had “Too Much Fomo” in the last season then you turn around and drop a “HAD TO BE THERE” Nuke on Us. No point in grinding for specific rolls anymore. They’re going to be worthless in 9 months or so. The incompetence of Luke Smith is mind blowing. Unbelievable....Yet par for the course.

Weapons need an overhaul not a cap. I think they should have a set roll for slot 1(sight), slot 2(mag), and slot 3(trait). Like vanilla D2. So every weapon has an identity. Then you can random roll an extra sight but only have a few available do you can’t get the best sight for every gun and also roll with an extra mag perk but also only have like 4 available. Slot 3(trait) is fixed. Then add slot 4&5 traits. Four options on slot 4 for random and three on slot 5. Then maybe a slot 6 where you can roll two perks but make them unique like third eye. Example: dire promise... steady hand hcs+(1random), steady rounds+(1random), triple tap, then a second trait random rolled, then a third trait random rolled, then third eye or tracker. Also sights, magazine, and trait perks should all be able to be leveled up. All guns should keep track of experience... 1xp/pvp, 1xp/20pve, 20xp/same gun dismantle. For 10,000xp triple tap could become double tap, high impact reserves could start damage sooner and ramp up higher at different levels. Sure shot hcs can have reduced negative stats. Along with weapons having identity’s they will have random rolls and can grow or be leveled for years. There is so much more that could be done besides this but just rpg food for thought. Same concepts could be used for class trees/abilities/grenades etc. for leveling. Every time I log on I can be earning something even if In small amounts.

Bungie wants people to invest time into this game when they aren't. Bungie is obviously keepin the late life of this game together with spit and bubble gum since avtivision split the season content is garbage all new stuff is mostly in eververse now they want to make weapons obsolete while also nerfing everything to create an illusion of challenging content in the next garbage horde mode they spit out then they will start recycling the weapons they made obsolete and pass it off as future content it's concerning there lack of resources for this game is transparent

              • Ok, if they did this in year 1 this would be acceptable. Now this is just -blam!-. Save this nonsense for next game. Unless the games being completely overhauled this is pointless.

My only feedback is that I disagree with the idea of shelving weapons and hope you reconsider before making that change.

                  • The game is ambivalent about how XP and perks make characters powerful. Destiny fails as an RPG because XP doesn’t effectively or intuitively gate access to the most powerful weapons, armor, and supers. XP should be eliminated so that grind is dedicated to finding premium loot and mods in service to the story.

Here's a way to get people to chase for new gear. Give them gear worth chasing after. Then they'll shelve the gear they have already. For example, Y1 Midnight Coup was upgraded with a Y2 Spare rations with rapid hit and rampage. Or Y2 Threat level with quickdraw trench Barrel for a Y3 paradox with demolitionist and swashbuckler. Blast furnace for Sacred Provenance. My loadouts are very diversified due to new gear. Edit... Also don't increase vault size. And retire the previous years loot pool. This will force players to have to be more selective on the gear they can keep knowing they have a set amount of space to work with. And 2, they know that they have a limited amount of time to farm it.

                      • Ok say that this lv cap hits, could there be a possibility of increasing the weapons power cap by 100 or 50 when a new season hits, just my opinion this way people will still use the new gear but slowly there old favourites get a bit of love and can still be usable

                        • Call me mad but I sort of agree with the "time of effectiveness" for weapons, 1 or 2 guns shouldn't be all players use for years and years, but I think that only happens because bungo are incapable of making new weapons that are more appealing than the old. They also need to bring back unlocking perks with XP on weapons 👍
