The Redrix is TRASH
Not worth the time folks..straight trash..i have 10 other pulses that would destroy it..just letting new guardians know

It's a great gun for crucible if you play your range. It has its place, but the PvE Nerf was stupid, it used to be a fun gun in PvE, now it's the worst PvE pulse in the game

1 ReplyI grinded for it and barely used it. After seeing everyone say it's a good gun I dropped 3,000 crucible tokens to get a good one, using it for 5ish I think it's a good weapon if you can get the hang of it. Mine has full bore, high cal and range. I think ricochet rounds will make it more consistent. After a few games I felt like Desperado was buffed as in the activation time is longer, if someone can confirm that'd be great. I think the people who say it's trash are just use to spamming the high RoF pulses, if you can master the defensive low rate of fire and get aggressive with Desperado you would be hard to stop. So there's a skill ceiling for the weapon.

Favorite pulse? I have a super steady last perdition that love. Can mainline headshots with it all day

Max stability on the RBS helps a lot. If you line up the shots and get them tight numbers, you'll send a guy to his inventory.

Redrix isn't as bad as I had remembered. I got my second 'We Ran' with it yesterday, albeit under easier conditions than my first. Also the opposing team wasn't nearly as good as they should be under SBMM. I still think it could use a few more rounds in the magazine but I admit it is useful in dealing with the current team shooting meta, because no one is expecting Redrix when they come strafing hard scope around corners like a trio of Klingon ships hiding behind a moon. This was with my original curated roll with stab MW, even, with Counterbalance mod. I'm finding it works best to kneel ADS and imagine the middle bullet in the burst is on their head seems to help proc Desperado, and the HCR actually flinches them (I see their bodies flinching when hitting crits, causing them to miss their return fire).

It loses to the Iron Banner and Gambit Prime fast firing pulses. People get it to have it in their collection. Might as well. You never know when the nets will change to favor it.

Those who don't feel that don't have good enough aim to utilize the optimal TTK the gun offers. Redrix/high impact frame ttk: 0.67 (2-burst) Adaptive frame (Bygones etc) ttk: 0.93 (3-burst) Aggressive frame (Blast Furnace etc) ttk: 0.73 (2-burst) Rapid fire frame (Claws of the Wolf etc) ttk: 0.80 (3-burst) Lightweight frame (Chattering Bone etc) ttk: 0.87 (3-burst) Desperado is directly designed to lower that TTK even further. By changing how fast you shoot each burst (RPM) it's objectively superior to every other damage boosting perk in pvp. Redrix/high impact frame ttk with desperado: 0.47 (2-burst). This is better than TLW 3-tap (0.53). When you land all headshots redrix beats every other pulse frame in game. With desperado redrix is better than the other high-impact frames. If you feel redrix loses to other pulses you don't have the aim to use it. Of course ease-of-use is a subjective factor in judging what gun is the best for you. There's nothing wrong with that. If you're physically unable to utilize the ttk the gun isn't for you. It doesn't make the gun itself bad however. For me redrix is the best example of how to design a pinnacle pvp gun. Objectively the best in slot with high skill floor so it doesn't immediately sledgehammer the meta till the next sledgehammer comes out or it gets nerfed.

The only problem I have with it is the sight. It's cumbersome and takes up way too much screen real estate.

It's definitely not trash, get one with a good roll and it's one of the best guns in the game. I'm not great at pvp but as long as you're not trying to rush folk, it'll come out top a large percentage of the time.

I personally disagree. While Bygones imo is EASIER to use, I think Redrix is generally better. Easier to control recoil pattern, good range, good sights, and its a high impact so you can 2 burst low res guardians. And then just activating outlaw and you are not only going to dominate the further ranges you would normally engage in, but you can even use it close range. -

Was such an intense and long/drawn out quest for that gun. I was so stoked to get it. I used it once. It’s been in my vault ever since. I tried it out recently and put it right back. Poor little gun :(

Compared to all these newer guns yea. With each new update that gets new guns there is always a few new guns that put the old ones to shame. Slightly better target acquisition, slightly better range, slightly better recoil. It's not trash but it's just not as awesome as it used to be. It needs a little buff to bring it up to date. Side note though, Luna's still needs another nerf. Lol

It is tier 2 now, Sacred Provenance is the best if it has god rolls. Other wise dont say the gun is bad. Say the grind is damn -blam!-. You have to do all 9 steps then pray to RNJesus.

4 RepliesIt’s only bad in the hands of whiners . But for those of us who have had it know it’s excellent in PVE as well as PVP . One if best all around guns in game .... if you actually were using the gun instead of posting your negrrivity you could see for yourself .
