• We couldn’t have walked a week into the European dead zone lol also the traveler fell off and went into the dead zone sooo the traveler can’t shed a few pieces of it and have it magically fly all the way to the European dead zone to Brazil. In destiny 1 the earth locations were in old russia safe to say the last city is either in asia, europe, or the middle east

 • The shard fell from space as the while it was moving an not in the final resting spot We didn’t we walked into the mountains guided by light and found hawthorn with a ship for us Don’t you think in a time where there’s a massive fleet just a weeks walk away that flying a ship is dangerous and a last resort like crossing a ocean important

 • I mean one of the factions in destiny is based off a dictator and also when the speaker was in the tower it was basically a dictatorship aka most European countries that are poor lol

 • Which faction is that? The speaker wasn’t a dictator. Dictatorships have been in almost every single region on the planet at one time or another.

 • The speaker bans anyone from the last city who he wants because of propaganda about the darkness. Basically a dictator but a nicer one lol

 • He banned one person. Whose ideas went out of control and was causing conflict in the streets. Between mortals and Guardians. He was also not doing his job in favor of said ideas. He also wasn’t doing anything tamp down that conflict, he was avoiding it as much as possible. A Vanguard Commander who was letting stuff get out of hand so he could study the Vex. Not good at all. Not exactly unwarranted. New Monarchy wants a single leader. To be voted on by the Consensus into power to stop the politicking from interfering with the running of the City. It’s not a bad thing if they feel like it’s the right thing to do. The Factions have caused trouble more then once. You can’t automatically imply it’s a bad thing just because. Real world views don’t apply to the game after all.

 • osiris wanted to stop them from being taken by the vex because they were messing with time which goes beyond the darkness or any other immediate threat. but the speaker didnt care about it. also osiris left on his own. speaker was gonna ban him though, pretty sure he also banned Toland because he seeked to understand the darkness. I really hate the speaker however we didn't get to see much of him which makes me angry.

 • Well back then we didn’t know about the Taken. He was just obsessed with their potential threat. Which was justified in Curse with the Dark Future. However his bosses got To the point of not doing his job as Vanguard Commander and he didn’t stop the followers from getting nutty. The Speaker was a firebrand, just like Aunor is now. The Vex don’t really mess with time. The Gorgons can erase things that come into their throneworld like spaces, such as the Vault of Glass. That’s it. It has some ripple effect in normal space. Some. That’s why I’m D1 we had to stop them from being Taken, if the Collective itself gets Taken...then it’s possible but unlikely. Hard to really say. The Exo Stranger comes from a time where the Darkness did take over the Vex. Yet we don’t see them stopping her with time travel. Hard to tell with the retcons between games.
