PVP Players saying “Last Word” is a PVP weapon.

PLEASE SHUT UP? It’s a weapon that dominated at one point in PVP in D1! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LORE BEHIND THE LAST WORD BEING A PVP WEAPON! Now I don’t care about the grind for it, but let’s not pretend that this crap wasn’t done to artificially EXTEND CONTENT! This is a dumb quest and should be simpler to get considering, ITS AN OLD WEAPON FROM D1 THAT REQUIRED NOTHING BUT RNG TO GET! This proves that Destiny 2 is nothing but Destiny 1.5! Give me the G-Horn instead of this gun.

  • I play PvP and PvE and I can agree with other that it has way more use in PvP than it does in PvE. It's really not meant for PvE, but still usable in certain aspects.

  • Its lore actually does. Do your research before spouting nonsense. So not only does it's lore clearly identify it as a weapon for killing those with light or who used to bear the light. Then add on the fact its a total PvP weapon in game. Yea I think its safe to say everything about TLW screams PvP.

  • Yeah I agree. Some people say it's just a PVP weapon. Even though streamers posted videos of them using it to kill strike bosses and raid bosses while using a well of radiance.

Funny thing about crucible players is that while they claim that everyone else should "get good" or " you just suck", " stop the whining" ," learn to adapt " and "yada yada yada". They quickly forget that since the beginning of D1 ...PvPers have had every weapon arch-type from the Suros to the Vex, the slow firing Hopscotch Pilgrim pulse to the fast firing pulses such as Clever Dragon, the Luck in the Chamber perks on Handcannons, the high rpm autos as in the Doctrine of Passing, Rocket Launchers as the Truth, Unique weapons such as the Thorn and Last Word.....NERFED ! Special ammo... in which made sidearms such as the Wormwood a meta for a short period. ...NERFED ! They have had Supers nerfed such as Arc Blades, Nova Bomb, Arcane Smash, Golden Gun and Warlock Resurrection. Also ...grenades and melee abilities. So Crucible players should take a long look in the mirror before telling PvE players how they should play and enjoy the game or when to bitch or not to bitch about a part of the game they play. Me personally igdaf about the Last Word, I'll just do it to add it to collections. I just don't understand the vitriol when the PVP community has cried and nerfed about everything PVE in the game since Y1 S1 !

Yet it is linked to pvp in the lore... The biggest rivalry that has existed in destiny The last word vs thorn Thorn being owned the once crucible champion, dredgen yor So by extension...yeah...its a pvp weapon...in the lore and in the game

    • Sorry. You’re wrong on points. It is a Crucible weapon. Always was. I’m not a fan of PVP but can tell you this much.

By all means use it in pve and get kicked from groups i did a couple forges with it last night it was garbage. What this really is about with all of you is ego that theres something you cant obtain so you are throwing a hissy fit to make it easier

      • as someone who usually plays pve almost exclusively, it is a pvp weapon. and there is lore about it killing other guardians, ex: dredgen yor, callum sol, probably a couple more shadows

      • If it was one of the most used guns in crucible for every week of trials, in general crucible and had no use for pve other than a meme its a pvp gun, this is last word a pvp gun

      • We wouldn’t even be talking if you PvE crybabies would suck it up and do something that’s challenging(even though it’s not even difficult) for once. It’s a gun that is a crucible gun BY DESIGN, not lore. It has deep lore, sure, but it will never be used outside of pvp

        • PvE and PvP player here... question How many people actually used TLW for D1 raids or other endgame content? How many used TLW for PvP?

        • In a game with a story where you create a character in PvE, start your journey in PvE, and said story ends in PvE, and where gear has lore, it’s a Destiny weapon before anything else. It would not have been unreasonable for them to have provided either/or options for this, or any other gear that carries lore with it. I understand the intention of the way they do it, but it’s unnecessarily divisive and rigid. They have very unrealistic expectations about how and what people play in this game that has attracted a wide range of player types because it has a little of everything.

Also, RNG makes it severely more difficult to obtain exotics compared to quests. ”Required nothing but rng.” you're probably the guy to post about how broken the exotic drop rate is lmao.

The last word, thorn and hawkmoon were the crucible in HoW, they gained their fame in the crucible so imo it only seems fitting that TLW has some crucible aspects in its acquisition. And if I may ask, how did it artificially extend content? It’s day two and a lot of people already have it, it’s not like any of the quest steps were time gated.
