New player here. A friend told me warlock is the worst class for any endgame activities, he said Titan has the best DPS and Hunter got the strongest utility/support, the only place warlock works is pvp, is this true? Should I reroll before I invest too much time, thanks!

1 ReplyWarlock is as good as the player end of.

1 ReplyTry beating last wish with only hunters, now try with Titans, now try with Master race...*cough warlock *cough

Is warlock shit what? Magical? Made of void light? A small fusion grenade? I like to think that warlock shit is like an orb of light.

They have the best PvE Subclass with Grace and best PvP Subclass with Fission..how can they suck aside from Glide being absolute dogshit?
-
Warlock is best. Best healer, close to best DPS super. Ur friend is an idiot

Warlock caught the biggest nerf from D1. If that is what your friend is talking about, they're right. The Warlock is not as OP as they were in D1. Fusion grenades for example used to be 1-hit kill, and last time I used them in PVP they would not even take out shields of a guardian. Lightning hands also is a little weaker than it was in D1. The Titan lost some utility with Ward of Dawn, but got a buff nearly everywhere else. The other area Titans caught a nerf is now the Solar shoulder charge applies the debuff to enemies and not the Titan's hammers. Though it could be argued that the Titan melee allows for greater use of the debuff. But with the Hammers the debuff lasted longer. Other than that they got a pretty big buff. Multiple melee abilities that kill in 1 hit, and strong grenades. Hunters do seem better suited for PVP than PVE. Though they got a big buff in both fields with the new solar subclass blade barrage. The only subclass not as suited for PVP are the ones that use void tether Going back to Warlocks, in PVE chaos reach is one of the best boss melting supers in the game, and Well of Radiance is an amazing team buffing super. Large area of effect, persistent healing with overshield, with a 35% damage buff, AND if the Warlock is wearing lunafaction boots, auto reloading weapons. It is the SINGLE greatest team support ability in the game.

The titan is objectively the worst class. It does nothing another character can't emulate or do even better than it. But your friend must be messing with you. Hunter and warlock are psuedo requirements for average raid teams. Titan hasn't been king since launch.

3 RepliesEdited by ReVenant: 11/16/2018 3:28:06 PMYour friend doesn't appear to know much. Take his list (that pyramid), and turn it upside down. And then you have a better idea of how each class plays in the vast majority of PvE content. 1. Warlock 2. Titan 3. Hunter That is a solid PvE Order of power as the game currently stands. The differences are not by "much" to be honest though. Every class has the capacity to do extremely well. Warlocks, however, take a tad less effort. You're on a solid class buddy. I'd keep it.

Your friend is messing with you.

All classes and and all subclasses are really good if you are good at the game. I’m just tired at people saying things are bad or OP because they don’t know how to use them. As a new player I’d simply suggest use whatever you want. If you get good with it you will always do well

I was frustrated with Warlock D2Y1 -too slow. In Forsaken; the best class, imo. So many good options and really useful exotics in each flavour. Titans are pretty good, too. Hunters have been pooped on a bit...probably because of the numbers and dominance (still) in PvP. Warlocks are superb if you can get to grips with the worst jump in gaming history!

Sorry, but you may need to return your friend and get a new one

2 RepliesEdited by TheWagn: 11/16/2018 3:48:17 PMNah man. All the new warlock sublcasses are really good. nova warp is the king of pvp and well of radiance is a must for raids. New stormcaller class is really nice as well. Can't tell if trolling. Your friend sounds like a filthy hunter. Warlocks are probably the hardest class to use though, so you may want to start hunter if you are just starting. -guy who "mains" all 3 classes

Edited by OopsYourself: 11/17/2018 3:29:32 PMI feel like all classes have a capacity to be extremely effective in PVE with the right setup: Titans with melting point, and the ikeilios shotty (I know I spelled that wrong) Hunters with tether and the boots that give super energy with each Warlock with radiant well Out of the three I think Titan is probably the weakest in PVE. While not bad, the shotty is really what carries the class because of how effective it is. The risk/reward without it usually isn’t worth it to proc melting point without it. The other two have supers that are really good PVE wise with warlock having the best support super and class ability.

1 ReplyEdited by Jack_Daniels: 11/16/2018 8:11:52 PMWarlocks have the best dps of all the characters. Well of radiance plus lunafaction boots is the ultimate. Plus it's the only class with blink and that can shoot while flying through the air. Titans are second best plus the have a really cheap shoulder charge that noone else gets. Hunters are basic bitches. Also stormtrance with crown of tempest is insane in add heavy activities like blind well, ep and some parts of the raid.

1 ReplyI main warlock and have since D1. Warlock is probably the most viable in PvE. Especially with the new Well of Radiance. At least in terms of support. Using Lunafacation boots with Empowering is deadly in PvE. Or using Phoenix protocol with well is awesome. Right Nova Warp is insane in PvP and used to the warlock is what you wanted to do damage in PvE in Escalation protocol because of the hoop cannon and nova bomb. It’s all about how you play. Also, using the chaos reach with Geomag Stabilizers in Gambit ridiculously strong for primeval clearing And using the crown tempest on the regular storm caller in PvP or PvE is pretty good too. Honestly, just play around with it. Though I will admit Dawnblade is not My favorite, but there are plenty who would say otherwise

Warlock jump is the worst

1 Replycheck and see if your friend has more than two thumbs, that's the only way I can imagine anyone being able to suck at the warlock. He might also be a moron so... weigh that accordingly.
-
Well of radiance is probably the most useful PvE ability in the game. Your friend sounds dumb.
-
Warlock is not useless in pvp or pve, it just depends what you're good at.

Edited by MindfulPizza: 11/17/2018 12:27:59 PMnova bomb , with head piece , geo leg , and if solar use the hand , warlocks are amazing as -blam!- , if like to get the 100k in nightfalls . if decide to do them , in gambit warlock takes the primevil out in 50% damage . when team does it right . and can get some super back on nova , if using gea burn , it all time kill when use it . i do not do raids but all other content 3 players warlocks are amazing as insane , did shatter throne easy because as warlock ,

Your friend is stupid
-
1 ReplyYour friend is very wrong. Warlocks are one of the most versatile classes in the game, and well of radiance being one of my most favorite supers right behind blade barrage. Still i enjoy using hunter the most since i just love blade barrage, but whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

Your friend is entitled to his opinion, but I suggest you keep on with your Warlock and show him the error of his ways.
