Don't Kill the Wizards in Gambit
This is a tactic I've seen some very smart teammates use in Gambit and I have to say, it really seems to being working. Don't kill the Wizards, don't use any Power Weapons, Supers or the IKELOS shotty.
Simply sit in the back of the spawn and shoot the Primeval with Auto Rifles. Slow and steady wins the race afterall.
Also, remember to let the Invader kill you any chance you get.

2 RepliesSome folks have a problem with simple math. The other team summoned their primeval. We had 72 motes banked. Teammate was holding four at the bank. Just standing there. I punched him a couple times. Turns and looks at me. I shoot at the bank. A few seconds later he deposits the motes. I guess he had to take his shoes off and use his toes to count.

1 ReplyI have given up on Gambit until there is something else to chase in it. I wanted to get all 3 resets and just couldn't bring myself to continue playing more games. Most of my clan has Malfeasance at this point and nobody wants to go back in for nothing and resetting ranks. Going in as a solo player is a nightmare. I think out of my last 10 games I was on the losing team for 9 of those games. What blows my mind is when being invaded. I find it so frustrating that players don't hide or the ones with low mote counts stop what they are doing to seek out the invader. I love watching my team mates who aren't listen to me on the mic or have a mic sit there blindly shooting the PE or hostiles and get lit up from behind. So stupid. Also, STOP HIDING IN THE SPAWN!!!!!!!!! That is where a nice rocket or SUPER can kill all four team mates in one quick swipe!

1 ReplyI know others on here have said it already, but I cannot stress it enough...when the drifter says “hey your team has enough to summon a primeval!” Stop what you’re doing and deposit any motes you have! It doesn’t matter if you’re one away from a large blocker. There is no logical reason to keep fighting ads because we have enough for the primeval. And of course when they do that they always end up dying with their motes so now we actually have to kill more ads

2 RepliesCompleted my Malfeasance the other day, last step was a pain, I kept invading and killing 3 guardians, the last would completely hide 😬. But luckily I went in using chaos reach with geomag stabilizers, and spotted them all, sleeper on one then melted the others with my super, what a feeling of celebration I've not felt that way over completing an exotic quest in ages.

lmao.. i've run into these guardians 90% of the time. I must be doing something drastically wrong. I thought, take our both whiches then melting point, double blade barrage for the win.. maybe 15 seconds at most.. buuuuuuut.. maybe i'm wrong here..

2 RepliesAnd when The drifter tells you to summon a primevil, make sure you just keep fighting ads, don't stop now to summon like he said, just keep going, no rush.

I think my absolute favorite thing to do, after banking 60 of our 73 motes, is to clear blockers, while my team sits back, each one holding enough to summon, then run to wherever the enemies are spawning and grab the last two myself, only to have to come back and clear the blockers again, summon, and THEN, invade to undo the lead the enemy has, come back with a few kills, hit the boss with the titan debuff, IKELOS it's ass, get us in the lead, see the enemy team is catching up, invade again, get a few kills, come back and finish off the prime evil. In the game overall, I banked 90 motes, killed 9 enemy guardians and did 44% damage to the prime evils. Mind you I SUCK at crucible, Gambit is one of the few occasions I can feel good about my play, but c'mon peeps, help a brother out...

11 RepliesMy personal favourite is when the other team are holding 30+ plus motes. We need 3 motes to activate invasion portal and cripple the greedy opposition. 2 Team mates are holding the required motes but don't bank (apparently 15 is the minimum you can bank) 30 seconds later and 2 Ogres come across. Then you hear those words "you're being invaded" player 1 lost 15 Motes player 2 lost 15 Motes "The other team has summoned a Prime Evil" Game over

1 ReplyFor what it's worth, there's been plenty of times where the only ammo I have when the Prime is summoned is Primary. Nothing else will drop. And I just used my super to try to clear a wave fast so we could summon first. Stupid me, I know. Trying to actually play what I thought was the main objective. Of course, that was going on three weeks ago when I used to play Gambit.

2 RepliesWe had a blueberry yesterday running around with a bow, stole heavy every chance and would just camp the portal. He would go in and immediately die every single time, with all the power ammo.

1 ReplyThat is a great way to get through the "play 5 matches" task without having any pesky 3 round games, or any of those silly win streaks. Maybe add "strive for a personal best at number of motes lost" each match too. I'd love to see everyone on the other team do all of this each time. Spread the word! :)

5 RepliesPrimeval? Nah, you aren't supposed to summon that guy. You just try to collect as many motes as you can, then find a good method for losing them all. Not paying attention to that beeping sound that is your shield break, and fighting 20 enemies using no cover seems to be the most popular method.

He managed to end the round with 0 banked and 70 lost. The strategy seemed to work, as me and the other teammates were so terrified of not killing the meatball in the third round we did really well.

Great Post!!! Glad I'm not the only one. The toughest thing about Gambit isn't the invader. It's random teammates..... arg.... LOL!!!

Don't play Gambit! Temporal Surge is your best bet on getting good new gear!
