Exotic engrams drops should be rare, but not THIS rare
Im one of the late comers, I bought the pre-order Cayde6 Forsaken pack, and Ive beaten the entire story of the game, and all the DLCs and not once have I seen an exotic engram drop. Sure I have exotic weapons and armor from missions, but that doesnt change the fact that E-Engram drops are far too exotic in my opinion. I agree they should be rare, and Ive read that they used to drop all the time, but now it feels like the dont drop AT ALL. Please fix the drop rate.

12 RepliesThe drop rate isn’t terrible, the issue is they are heavily weighted to drop y1 exotics. I’ve dropped 29 exotics since forsaken (3) of which were new. 2 bows, 1 sword. All others were old exotics I already owned.

What’s sad is how rare they are but how common duplicates are. Sucks ass.

They still actually exists? I've never seen one since Forsaken release, the only exotic I could grasp was the Ace of Spades and the Chaperone, but because they're Quest Exotics...that aside, not a single Exotic...

Yea I've been playing all weekend and everyday since last Sunday and I have yet to see one exotic engram but I see everyone else with them so I'm if its my luck or what

My problem is that they aren’t dropping from strike bosses or even chests. They literally drop from normal enemies. So it’s a bit strange

Got my first forsaken exotic today. Thank goodness. It was the warlock chest that adds explosions to precision kills.

You just have bad luck. I’ve gotten about 5 exotics, already losing count. There’s nothing wrong with the drop rate.

THEY’RE ALL Y1 EXOTICS! The exotic drop rate seems fine to me, BUT I’M NOT ACTUALLY GETTING ANY EXOTICS I DON’T ALREADY HAVE!

I just think it's wrong for Bungie to promote online with videos your exotics, and then make them almost impossible to receive. Imagine a new player paying because they see that advertisement with no mention of the odds of getting one, or that you might never get them.

1 ReplyWent through the chaperone quest, and finally got it. My next exotic drop in the blind well was another chaperone. They shouldn't drop quest exotics this way, even though it can only happen after you finished the quest.

For most people there is a breaking point where if after a ton of work you don’t start seeing the highest rewards you assume you won’t get those rewards and quit. Happened with Y1 Destiny and it’s gonna happen here too unless a better balance is struck. I don’t understand why Bungie always swings to extremes. Take Auto-rifles in D1 for example. Auto-Rifles were to strong so instead of toning them back a bit Bungie nerfed them into oblivion. Here instead of nerfing the drop rates to half of what they were Bungie nerfed them to a point they are so rare they might as well not exist. To make things worse *everything* is in that exotic pool including strangely enough WorldLine Zero even if you didn’t complete the quest. I could see making it this rare if they were ensuring duplicates and quest item exotics would not be generated but even that is not the case. You can win the virtual lottery, get an exotic drop and get an exotic you already have or didn’t quest for because you had no interest in it (me with World Line Zero).

I’ve gotten more random exotic engram drops since D2F released than I did in entirety of year 1.

PvP isn’t dropping... anything. Oh, only blues, almost no legendaries and exotics.

Strikes are the best place for them.

Xûr won't be selling forsaken exotics for awhile so the grind is real you'll think if you use them medallions things twice you'll get a exotic but you don't.

I agree. Rare. But when you get such a super rare drop and it's a year 1 you already have? Frustrating.

6 RepliesI am not against the "drop rate" for one thing. Not saying that others will feel the same, but now it feels like I have something to shoot for. Exotics will feel rewarding when I get them to finally drop.
