Honest Opinoin - Is it worth playing Destiny 2 if you cant raid.
As you can see im 267 - Most nightfall runs want 280+ - If you haven't run that content yet.. 280 doesn't drop does it? It seems like raid or die. If you can't run nightfall or the raid. Is there any point on playing this game?
is it simply raid or die?

Do whatever you have the most fun with. The raid isn't a requirement to get high level, although it's part of the existing content that you might miss out on. This raid just didn't peak my interests, so I don't even have an intention to do it.

The raid adds a lot to the game, but it's not the only thing good about the game

I have finished raid and havent gotten any loot out of it. And i am 304 now. Only need a 300 base chest armor to be max light. So you can get max light easily without raid rewards.

You don't necessarily have to do the raid at all to get get your light up. I've only ever done the raid three times, once on each character, and I have not wanted to run it again since then. You can reach 305 from your weekly milestones and clan engrams alone. If that's not enough you could always give trials a shot on Friday for more powerful gear. And Nightfalls are asking for 280+ it's worth trying to create your own group, the requirement is only 240 and they can be done at that range if you're playing smart. Guided games tickets can be your friend if you have them, there's plenty of people out there willing to help others.

Just do the weekly milestones. Seriously I was just like you until I did tons of events and milestones

You have to do stuff to get the "powerful gear" if you want to keep going up. So, flashpoint, NF, Raid, PVP.

did first nf with 240...raid with 290...but couldnt finish it - btw - raid is not worth it

Raids are amazing and you should try them but you can still keep going on exotic drops and luminous engrams

1 ReplyDo the raid because you want to, to experience it, not because you feel you have to. I have three characters, one of each class, all around 295. I've only done one milestone this week, and have more to do across three characters and I hope to see 300 or close to it on my main(titan) when I'm done. I've not donethe raid ever, I've not done a nightfall ever. I've only done solo milestones. Flashpoint Call to arms Clan xp(only since last week) This coupled with running events to get exotics has kept me moving upward. Along with utilizing my second and third characters and the exotic quests to get higher level exotics for infusion. I maxed all three characters in d1 at the end and never did wrath of the machine or any of the remastered raids. Raids should be done for fun with friends to experience the activity. NOT as work to get better gear or level up, grinding raids was never fun and usually just led to cheesing for fast rewards or playing with randoms and getting more stress than reward. If you have people to raid with and wanna do it go ahead, but it is absolutely not a necessity to get anywhere in this game.

1 ReplyJoin a clan, make your own LFG posts requiring nothing, make "friends", use the google to find videos or posts about how to level up or join does nutters at New Monarchy & most importantly make a ham sandwich.

I'm almost at 300 power on my main character and on my Titan I almost have 290. I haven't even touched the raid or Trials yet.

Out if my 3 characters 2 can be 302 light... without the raid. I'm having fun chasing full armor sets, guns and exotics.

I’m about to hit 270 and have done nothing but mess about on patrols/heroic events, run strikes, and when I’m realllly bored, PvP. I do plan to eventually run a nightfall or two, and complete the raid...but I definitely wouldn’t call those the end-all-be-all events of the game. If you want the gear from them, fine, but the game’s rad enough without playing them. ...that said if you ever decide you want to/have the time to run them, I think you’ll enjoy them both with the right group of people.

imho, the games over when you ge tp 265. Then you got your clan engrams, the nightfall, the raid, you clan milestoene and flashpoint milestones. I aint even done a nightfall or a raid and I've got all 3 characters between 265 and 280, without even grinding. The problem is there is tons of stuff to do in destiny, just no reason to do it more than once.
