The game is called Destiny. A Guardian's Light gives them the power to forge their own destiny. Using the darkness means surrendering that power.

1 ReplyIdk why some people became this edgy / semi furrry where they just really want this dark evil class or a fallen playable race. Who the -blam!- wants to play as a arachnid humanoid anyway?
-
8 RepliesYou will not stop me from making a deal with the last remaining Ahamkara who fled earth and now lives on the Jovians. He will grant me my wish while you're digging your grave. Enjoy your light.

1 ReplyWhat about black light? Is popular in adult clubs
-
1 ReplyWhat if there could be a middle ground, if anyone is familiar with Star Wars there were grey Jedi that could control a balance between light and dark. A guardian could be the same, stray away from the Traveler to find a controllable part of the Dark(or the Traveler might be the Dark, mind twist) while having a piece of light, your ghost.

1 ReplyI always thought void was a darkness subclass. Its not?
-
11 RepliesSo explain Dredgen Yor and his followers using Darkness infused abilities
Bungie is stupid for not completely obliterating their lore by giving every single Guardian the opportunity to get dark powers!
Some of the weapons we use are made from the darkness. Hell, we have Oryx himself fueling one of our peashooters.
-
There could be a Decay subclass though, as that's the fourth element in the Destiny universe, alongside the three forms of Light we already have.
-
The idea dark subclasses just give me an emo vibe. 'Like oh I'm an edgy teen that wants about a subclass that relates to me" proceeds to listen to shitty emo bands. Sorry that idea of dark subclasses just disgust me. I have no idea why.

1 ReplyEdited by Seraph: 6/1/2017 5:44:53 AMMore importantly, Bungie feels that there is a lot of symmetry in the number 3. That's why we have 3 races ( Humans, Awoken and Exos ). That's why we have 3 classes ( Hunters, Titans and Warlocks ). That's why we have 3 subclasses and 3 types of elemental damage ( Solar, Void and Arc ). Luke Smith briefly commented on this when he was on IGN's Fireteam Chat after the Destiny 2 reveal ( where either Fran or Destin asked him if we'd get a new Class in Destiny 2 ), he commented on how he feels that there is a certain symmetry between Hunters ( Rogues ), Titans ( Warriors ) and Warlocks ( Mages ) and how there is no room for a 4th Architype. He also hinted that it was very deliberate that there we have 3 races, 3 classes, 3 subclasses, etc. Adding a dark subclass would throw all that symmetry out of whack. They'd have to remove one of the existing elemental types from the equation ( Solar, Void or Arc ).

Not necessarily.

I said this and people jumped on me for it lol

For the Horde. Death to the Alliance.

4 RepliesWhat. Guardians channel Light from the Traveler, servants of the Darkness control their own power, they don't surrender shit. The Hive are enslaved through their Worms but that's because they took a deal with Worm Gods, you don't need to do that to get Darkness powers.

2 RepliesThought void was part of darkness?

11 RepliesNot true the grimoire talks of a group of guardians who have utilized the dark basing their techniques on Yor. The difference between them and him is that they figured out how to do so without being corrupted.

Edited by RingersCheckmate: 5/31/2017 6:05:19 AMI'm less convinced of dark subclasses but I'm interested in dark armor pieces that alter the light. I mean, you're going to tell me that putting a dead dragons spine who's a tween nonetheless on my arm for two improved tripmine grenades is entirely innocent?

6 RepliesDark magic is for scrubs. Chaos +10 zweihander all the way
-
Your mom is a dark subclass
-
2 RepliesNightstalker is as close as you can get.
-
They should make a sequel where we play as the krill sisters and succumb to the darkness
-
I wouldn't mind being a dark side guardian . Might make LFG a bit harder.
-
3 RepliesNot really both the light and the dark are paracausal forces, the main diference is that the sky gives us that power while the deep forces you to make a path or take it. Perphaps there will never be pure dark guardians because those are called the hive but guardians with twisted light are more common in lore.

We might if we have a Toland DLC
