It definitely needs taken out of pvp. The addition of that to pvp has made the game more ability based which isn't what it's about. We need more gun fights and primary fights. If you want to sit in the back of your Spawn and camp super then you shouldn't get it within two minutes.

It's a space magic game. Why in the world would you think there needs to be less focus on abilities? There's lots of games with no abilities at all. You could play those. I disagree with your assertion that gun play should be the primary focus of the game. Personally, I say, gimme that old space magic.

Refer to eyaslunatic's spoiler below and you'll understand better hopefully.
-
If you want a game that doesn't involve people using supers, perhaps Destiny isn't the right game for you to be playing?
-
Edited by Eyaslunatic: 2/2/2017 10:52:29 PM^^Skorri abuser 😃
Don't twist what they said. Gunfights take more skill and should be the main method of killing in this game. Abilities shouldn't be obsolete but they also shouldn't be so relied on.
Edited by Eyaslunatic: 2/2/2017 11:52:22 PMThey're easier to use, so they shouldn't reward you too much and too often. You know, one side just wants PvP to be fun/not take away from PvE and the other wants PvP to be balanced and fun. We can have both but that's ultimately up to what Bungie does.
-
So, if say, one gun is easier to use than another gun, it should be banned?
-
There you go twisting things. It's impossible to balance it that far, use common sense. Certain guns will always be better than others in their own way (though we should always strive to make it as balanced as possible), as with abilities and other abilities. But abilities shouldn't be relied on as much as a gun.
-
I'll say it again... why? I can certainly respect that that is your opinion. Another equally valid opinion is that abilities are the high point of the game and their use should be maximized as much as possible. For many people the space magic aspect of the game is why they chose to play Destiny instead of a more traditional shooter.
-
It's admittedly really hard to explain why one thing takes more skill than other things in games. All I can support my claim with is personal experience and confirmation from great (top of the game, not just relative to me) players. So it's down to preference: Make PvP more focused on gun skill or keep encounters focused a lot more on what abilities you have.

Finally!! Somebody comes in here and understands what I am actually saying.

Edited by albinomachina: 2/2/2017 11:57:38 PMNope. I use Gheleon or whatever it's called. The one that gives you a better radar. edit - I honestly don't think I've ever even equipped Skorri's artifact on one of my characters, other than when I put it on to level it up.
-
Oh, cool. Skorri was still a mistake. Read spoiler on my other reply if you haven't, just edited.
-
Agreed
-
It's a strategy that you have to adapt to. If you can't, that is the definition of getting outplayed kid
-
It's a strategy, sure. But being a strategy in of itself doesn't justify it. It's too much to ask to "adapt" to it, especially when actual decent players abuse it.
-
What?? You can't honestly think that is a strategy? If you think sitting, hiding and waiting on a super is a strategy, then you have more problems than anyone can explain. Using a super isn't getting out played either. Look up the definition of outplayed if you think so. There is nothing about Skorri that has anything to do with out performing the other individuals. What Skorries does do for the individuals who use it, is give them hope because apparently they can't push with weapons and get outgunned on a regular basis.
-
Bull s*** why do you want it all to be about weapons? We have abilities for a reason. Go play COD if you want straight gun fights dude.
-
I didn't say all about weapons did I? It's fine to have nades, smoke, throwing knives, etc. what isn't fine is having to deal with 5-6 supers the last two rounds of trials because people just sit there and camp skorries. You want unlimited abilities? Go to mayhem and play it. You can get two supers in a game of trials by playing well and smart, without skorri. The games are dragged out because of it and makes for boring game play. People just sit there with map control, playing the way you should, and others sit in the back of the map because they can't do anything else apparently
-
So you want yet another thing removed because of -blam!-ing trials....well done, that gamemode is slowly destroying destiny.
-
Removing and nerfing doesn't equate to "ruining the game." Removing Skorri would be one step to improving ToO a ton. Unfortunately the guys and gals at Bungie don't know how to balance PvP, and forbid they update anything in less than 150 day intervals... They don't implement things properly and the consequences include people like you blaming others for their incompetence.
-
The problem being is that this game wasn't made with pvp in mind, it's a pve game that caters to pvp players.
-
We're way beyond that unfortunately. Again, only thing we can really do is hope for a more quality experience in Destiny 2.
-
Do you just sit there and camp in control, Clash, Rift, Skirmish, abusing skorries? No I don't think you do. Hell, do you even run skorries in there? Probably not. That's my point. It's abused in one game mode, which happens to be trials. Trials isn't ruining the game. It's the only thing that is keeping a lot of people playing the game.
-
Then Bungie should give people primary weapons that can reliably kill people without having to rely on team shooting.
