392 with a 392 special and I decrypt an exotic special engram. Guess what I get, a 391 haha gotta love rng

I waited until I was 390 (with everything) before decrypting any exotic engrams, all 18 exotics decrypted @ 387-389LL. Their algorithm is out to lunch, the only time to reliably level your light is now IB; just another way to artificially increase play time.

Yip, I'm 393 and I decrypted 2 exotics, legendaries from iron lord bounties, vanguard/faction packages and all were 391 LL.....have gave up trying to get any higher until the next IB

I found it will decrypt only a few light levels above your lowest light piece. So if your ghost or bond or whatever is lower than 392, work on getting that piece up before you decrypt.
