I use my primary 80% of the time in pve, I don't really like using up all my special and heavy so please bungie bring back elemental primaries.

2 RepliesEdited by RavenousLD3341: 9/8/2016 1:07:08 PMCan't believe all of these people not wanting elemental primaries. Do you realize that the decision was to increase weapon diversity by removing elements from primaries. I went from using 5-8 primary weapons to 2. *Slow clap* great job, your logic clearly worked. [b][u]With elemental primaries[/u][/b] Raid weapons were amazing, and highly sought after. (I raided every week with every character) Annoying ass, bullet sponge, yellow bar enemies were a little less annoying I always switched between weapon types and load outs for nightfalls. I had many many options. [b][u]Without elemetal primaries[/u][/b] I did hard raid once to check a box. Rewards just aren't worth the BS. I have to LFG a group, spend 45 minutes maybe getting a few pieces of mediocre gear. No thanks. PoE has a better pay out, and it's easier. Weapon diversity is much lower. I went from switching between... [armory]Fatebringer[/armory] [armory]Vision of Confluence[/armory] [armory]Word of Crota[/armory] [armory]Praedyth%27s Timepiece[/armory] [armory]Oversoul Edict[/armory] [armory]Fang of Ir Yût[/armory] to.... [armory]The Devil You Know[/armory] [armory]Hand of Judgment[/armory] Takes multiple mags to chew through come shields. Which is just irritating. Elemental Primaries were an excellent reward for completing the most challenging content in the game. And after the repeated PvE damage nerfs to guardians, now is a good time to being this back. You.. know since nightfall burns are x2 damage for Guardians and x3 damage for everything else. We are at a distinct disadvantage.

No thanks

Not the way it used to be that's for sure

12 RepliesEdited by JBID13: 9/7/2016 9:01:43 PMThis won't happen, here's why: Bungie has release statements regarding why they got rid of elemental primaries. Players would ONLY use the small handful of elemental primaries. There was a serious lack of variety (on the players choice). This is completely true, with me especially. I would literally ONLY use fatebringer, VoC, and word of Crota. Why ever use a kinetic primary when you could use an elemental? I miss my fatebringer so much. But now I cycle 10-12 different primaries each week (not counting exotics). And I'm enjoying the primary game sooooo much more. I actually look at rolls on all primaries instead of deleting immediately because it wasn't an elemental.

I would really love to see this happen! I miss my VoC and would LOVE something similar to replace it since Bungie hasn't brought it forward.

7 RepliesNo. Please no why just why. It makes the strikes easier. I like destiny the way it is. Please bungie don't see this.
-
1 ReplyWhy does it matter?
-
28 RepliesWants the point of special and heavy then? I don't want an easy mode PvE again, no thanks.

Just add an item that turns a kinetic weapon into a random element. This way, everyone still has variety

9 RepliesEdited by SpawnOfTRON: 9/7/2016 11:54:31 PMFor all of the players out there in support of removing elemental primaries, here's a concept. Add MORE primaries with elemental damage. That could cause people to change it up more. Add some Variety. Bungie's press release regarding taking away elemental primaries was b.s. It was just easier to make old guns obsolete than to design new and BETTER primaries. The problem was never elemental primaries to begin with. The problem was that the original elemental primaries were too powerful, regardless of the element. People didn't solely use Fatebringer because of the arc damage. They used it because it was a beast. Same with all of the other raid primaries. Does anyone else remember the elemental primaries that dropped after beating Skolas? Most people don't because not only were they rare drops, but because they weren't very special. Nobody used them because "why use this garbage when I've got a Fatebringer." Proof that it wasn't the element that people wanted, it was the Gun it's self. Instead of taking things away, I say Bungie should continue to add more. No one will be complaining about variety when every other gun that drops has a burn on it, they'll be complaining that the guns just aren't special anymore.

I would rather their be two more exotic primaries, each would have one of the remaining ingredients elements two types. Maybe a void pulse and a solar hand cannon. This way we would at least have a primary of each elemental type. Would help with those stupid small arms void/solar burn modifier combos.

How long has this horse been dead? Two months? Five months? Feels like it's close to a year now.

I saw the idea forever ago, about Elemental consumables being a thing. Except, I don't like the fact that they'd be timed like Black Wax Idols, and the other consumables. Instead, make them permanent fixtures, either by infusing them into the guns themselves, or maybe doing something with the Ornament slots that guns seem to be getting in RoI. Just a thought.
-
Maybe exotics could have a burn like zhalo but I say leave them behind. We've been without them for a year and have gotten by just fine.
-
I saw someone suggest elemental consumables like a black wax idol type set-up maybe a long cooldown for them I think it could work. But not like year 1 there was even less diversity then now.

1 ReplyNope.
-
7 RepliesHonestly if they're going to have shotguns and snipers in primary slots, what's the big deal with having elemental primaries again?
-
Doesn't matter, i only use maybe 3 different primary in pve and the same amount in pvp.

Make them Exotic, like the Supercell. I think that's the only way they could work at this point.
-
Also , bring back PRIMAIRY's in the game. Only specials are still in game.

Edited by an engram full of bees: 9/8/2016 2:24:41 AMI think they should add some kind of item that applies an element to your primary. The game's weapon variety goes to shit when you're practically forced to pick raid weapons over vendor ones.
