Pulse Rifle Meta was the best Meta
This was the height of the destiny crucible to me personably. You had bad juju, red death, hopscotch pilgrim (the best of them all with the right roll and the most rare), spare change, and a few I may be leaving out. Mida multitool still recked and it was OK to use something else than a sniper rifle as a secondary. Some may hate but I personably loved this meta and some may agree, I just hat how I haven't played in 3 months and all I see in iron banner is Mida, Mida, TLW, Mida, Mida, 1000ys, Mida, TLW. We all want a meta that has more than two or three guns running the show
Edit 1: I'm seeing some love for this and yes I can't believe I left out the messenger, that was a MONSTER! #BuffPulseRifles
Edit 2: We're trending! Please destiny bring balance back to crucible! Buff auto rifles and pulse rifles just enough to add verity.
Edit 3: Seems the common thought is that HoW meta was the best (I agree 100%), yet knowing Bungie by now they'll screw it up again lol
Edit 4: Well with news of the new update, as a preview, I think it'll be Suros Regime and Fusions which I'll f**k with cuz that was the first couple months of vanilla destiny. Wish they would bring back the Hopscotch Pilgrim but I'll take Spare Change if I didn't delete the yr 2 versions I got...FML

I liked the Bad Juju meta, also other PRs were good, Oversoul Edict, 123 SYZYGY, and others. I went for full autos as less finger strain

Maybe I'm weird, but that's not exactly my definition of "the best meta". In fact, I don't think there was a best meta. They were all clusterf*cks where most players were just dogpiling onto whatever had the lowest TTK after Bungie's ham-fisted nerfs. Now, there was slightly more variety in that meta if only because of the ascension system, but I wouldn't say it was strictly "better". It still had all the same problems that we have today.

You made a very good point. Bungie wants balance even if it's temporal. Anytime a weapon gets overused they are going to modify performance parameters to mitigate.

If you mean pulse rifle meta as in after ttk dropped but before December then yeah, but if you mean HoW then no, i hated that meta.

1 ReplyPR meta showed that it was possible to have a meta where many weapons were king rather than just a few. I prefer to be killed by guns that anyone can obtain if they put in a solid effort. Practically all pulses were strong, not just 1 or 2. Not everyone can go flawless in Trials. I sure as hell never will. No point in even trying. DoP is meta but is unobtainable without being carried unless you're a crucible god and can do carries yourself. Imo trials weapons shouldn't be the only legendary meta. Post game regular crucible drops should be op as well. And raid guns, too. This way, anyone could potentially get a meta weapon that's not exotic.

You just brought back memories of my beloved Hopscotch, RIP. I loved that weapon, outlaw, braced frame, reactive reload, when reactive was up it was utterly brutal.

I normally don't come to #Density but I was Interested in the new update and had to put in my 2 cents. The hand cannon meta was the best. It was the most tactfully superior meta. Now all the guns feel like pea shooters with ridiculous aim assist. The feeling that 3 hits will kill you was the best because you would end up playing much safer, but skillfully. Also, nothing got the blood pumping like chasing someone as your health drained out from the thorn, hoping you get that last hit on your enemy before you die.

2 RepliesSo are the low rate of fire pulse rifles pretty much being restored to what they were before the last nerf? I've been holding on to a Lyudmila-D with glass-half full, counterbalance, and hand-laid stock in hopes that it becomes beast again.

4 RepliesIn the next weapon tuning patch, I guarantee that Scout Rifles and Sidearms will be obliterated for no apparent reason, seeing as they're the only weapons left that haven't undergone any serious nerfs.
