Sniping takes no skill. Prove me wrong
So let's get this out of the way. I'm not salty nor am I calling for a nerf.
Okay since that's out of the way, sniping here takes no skill. You may (of course many of you) will say "it's totally skilled, jus adapt scrub!" Or try and bring up kd and of course I really won't give two shits.
Now I've noticed that snipers haven't been touched since day 1, yet there's now a problem with them now. Of course it was skillful compared to shotgunning *cough* I mean scrubgunning.
If you want to say sniping takes skill on here then you're delusional. It's simply point, aim, blap, then headshot. When compared to sniping in games where it factors in the bullet drop, leading your target, and zero in your scope.
That, ladies and scrubs takes skill if not a lot of skill. Of course I know many of you will disagree, say things that are not relevant to the topic, and of course try to rebuttal my statement.

How to be a "skilled" sniper: Step 1: Aim (duh) Step 2: Make sure you're steady, make slow movements don't look around the whole screen Step 3: Don't fire unless you know you have a dead on shot Step 4: Don't fire hoping to hit someone Step 5: Stay calm, don't panic if someone is rushing you. Keep your aim. Step 6: Success I proved you wrong. Please define skill to me and see who's right. Rekt m8 ;)

Video games are for fun. They're not about skill. And relatively NOTHING about video games takes skill. It's basic hand eye coordination and pushing buttons. If you think it takes skill to play Destiny you need to get some new hobbies.

I suck with a sniper. If I'm ever in a "let me pull out my sniper" mood.... I get over it 2 minutes in. I've been playing FPS since Halo: CE, got good with it in Halo 2, but ever since COD: BO it hasn't been the same :/

1 ReplyI never used to snipe but to compete or win is to snipe now I do think 1k yard Stare takes no skill but thats because your given the gun as a reward it from the story it rez snipes and got good aim assist people are good with it because they been using it since ttk. I like nlb and 9/10 I will out shoot someone with 1k Stare. But a gun like 1k Stare should be obtained by ib like efrideets spear not for playing storya

That's how battlefield does it with snipers, but the maps are huge and that factor makes it a little more plausible. Would love to see a little of that blend into Destiny though. Good points all around man.

3 RepliesEverything takes skill. Breathing takes skill. It's the matter of what takes more effort and what takes less. I hate using the term "skill", but it really is what takes more effort. For example taking a light jog compared to running a mile is a big difference in effort, going on patrol and doing a raid also has a big change in effort. Sniping in destiny does take some effort, or in your case "skill", not everyone can aim, not everyone can profusely make tiny changes, not everyone can time their shots right. That is what makes the difference between the skill level of a infant and a teenage boy when it comes to video games. The teenage boy would have more experience and more "skill" in gaming than the infant.

There are more sniper rifle bullets flying around and you will die more from snipers because of the increase of snipers. Snipers are easy to counter. Get in close range Shot gunners are easy to counter. Stay out of close range.
