On Samsara I, a warlock chest piece, it states: "it is a lonely thing, to live forever."
-Alemyr
Right off from there we can suspect living forever has to do with the vex, since they can manipulate time. Looking at what happened to praedyth I wouldn't be surprised why it would be lonely.
Another flavor text, the legendary ship Alemyr's Lament, states as follows: "Would that I had stopped him before he drank."
Now this is the stretch:Perhaps being the fourth member with Kabr and Praedyth and Pahanin, he must have gone through the same things. Kabr states that he drank of the oracles, which most probably took as a symbolic gesture, although it may have. Even literal. He may had actually cracked one open and literally drunk the liquid inside, gaining some kind of knowledge while getting sick as well. This may have lead to Alemyr wishing that he warned him and stopped him before doing so. That also leads to something else:what did drinking the oracle end in? Now the stranger thing about this text is that Alemyr says he would had stopped him, and since had is an action that is completed but still in the past, he must've completed his action in stopping Kabr from drinking, but this isn't the case as we know Kabr did in fact drink of them. The whole entire sentence is strange, so I think it's because he is living in some vex out of time chamber, so his concept on the present and past may be different then ours, like what most Vault of glass experiments always seem to do.
Yeah that's a lore guess. Hope I got you thinking.
Edit, now the next day:So what does this mean for Pahanin? Did he forget Alemyr entirely? Praedyth mentions Pahanin and Kabr but not Alemyr... Is it possible Alemyr was wiped from existence by the Gorgons?
Also if anyone knows a lore clan that is Active I'd like to join.
JUST GOT NEW EVIDENCE!!! Ok so this proves any theory of a fourth member. "I came into the vault with two others" We haven't any grimoire, let alone proof of the Gorgons actually wiping a person from existence. Though we do have some evidence of what they do. They send a guardian through multiple timelines without their ghost. Or either send them to a cell like Preadyth's and put their ghost in a chest. Though this new evidence has closed any more predictions on a fourth member.

Well done.

Awesome theory. Just a mention for more sake (doesn't really change the theory at all). Hive live forever as long as their work is fed.

2 RepliesBro, ever heard of Xylar?

4 RepliesI think that living forever applies to Guardians, as we Guardians are, technically speaking, immortal. The second part also reminds me of a titan artifact, called Igaltho-Cyu. It looks like an ancient, cracked, stone cup, with the text reading, "Drink, if you dare." I assume that this is a name bungie made up, because I couldn't find anything on the web, and it doesn't translate to any language that google translate knows. Something that may interest you; a man named Alymer is the main character in a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne called The Birthmark. Read the story, as it does involve someone drinking something and then another person regretting it. This could be a reference by Bungie to the story.

3 RepliesShoot a PM to AnonPig, he loves the Destiny lore and your theory would surely get some talk going. Collective of Knowledge is the clan name - all sorts of lore buffs in there...
I used to regularly post in there, but work has my focus now 😒
26 RepliesNo. Kabr Preadyth Pahanin Tuyet. Read the grimoire for that exotic fusion rifle. Can't remember it's name (will come back). It mentions Tuyet's fireteam going somewhere in the Ishtar regions, Venus. The vault is in the Ishtar regions. Either meaning that Tuyet was either in the vault or the archives. Both make thrilling stories. Also your gorgon wipe theory is wrong. The relic is required to get past the Templar. Kabr made the relic in his last dying breath. Most likely the team died to the ritual of negation. To make armour is a long process, meaning they must of been fighting the vex long enough in the Templars well. To well, lose members. Though you may think that they must of had six. No they actually can't have over five. Pahanin told the vanguard to make raiding require six people. So no one could die like Kabr again. Even if they did reach the Gorgons. None would've survived to tell. Leading to mean Pahanin wouldn't of escaped. To prove my theory even stronger. Tuyet's fireteam supposedly died getting the data to make the fusion rifle. Only one survived to tell the vanguard about the data they collected. Grimoire has not told us what they were doing in the Vault of Glass.

13 RepliesI still prefer "You will dream of teeth and nothing else!" Which is clearly about Gary Busey, who must be Destiny 2's raid boss.

Making connections where there are none. They're all so far of a stretch it might as well be a fanfic, honestly.

1 ReplyThe living forever part doesn't necessarily point to the vex since guardians do literally live forever. The second part is interesting though.

Or... it could just mean he's tired of being a Guardian. How about that?
