Strangest thing it was by a 30-something noob man child(said he only had the game for a couple weeks), and another man-child with a speech impediment. It shook me up a little, all the verbal and mental assaults brought my game down. I'm usually a nice a guy on-line so when someone is being rude to me I usually just laugh and say haha yea that's funny. It's ironic though in real life and face to face no way in hell would these guy behave the way they did to me. Towards the end I finally had a breaking point and spoke my mind, the guy who had the game for a couple weeks apologized and ceased. However the speech impediment, "5-year old" continued to be immature. The group disbanded I was able to find another group and easily beat Oryx, big difference in the successful group, people were actually being helpful, no one was new to beating Oryx. Overall a better friendlier atmosphere, devoid of narcissists and assholes. Also I'm no push over either I've completed the raid on all 3 characters since launch of hard mode, and have always been respected and courteous.
So, I guess my biggest lesson I've learned from playing with people, is that shit talking, getting angry, or any form of toxicity is very harmful to the success and morale for a team. Elitism and Narcissism is the biggest indicator and danger sign to look out for in a player when recruiting a fire team. When it's just one or two people messing up they can learn by taking a break and communicating. However with narcissistic asshole its like talking to a brick wall with a bad attitude bring everyone down. Sorry for the rant but this has been lingering in my mind.
*This post was inspired by a powerful episode of The Walking Dead recent episode involving Peace and Aikido.
*For those "tough guys" My main point here is this has been a learning growing experience for me to be more helpful player as opposed to putting people down without contributing to the success of a team.
*Another thing to take from this post is that, when someone dies in a Raid it may not be their fault that they're dying. There is a million reason that could trigger this such someone tethering the shade at the wrong time next person that gets put in will be slammed. Ogres aren't being aggro 'd efficiently thus are loose cannons killing people on platforms, or the relic runner being targeted. Lack of communication where as someone the last to meet up somewhere. All these little things can be addressed and fixed instead of rage blaming and being rude.

another useless post bitching and whaaa crying over obvious shit, gee I guess it only happens in Destiny tho
-
This is why I don't raid with people I don't know. Some people are cool, most others are just a bunch of monkeys.

You're always gonna find asshole no matter what you do. But the great thing is, when they're getting mad for whatever reason, you can take pride in the fact that it's just a game and you're having fun like what a game is supposed to do. Besides, who's the real loser anyways? The asshat getting bent over a game that means nothing or you who is playing for fun and enjoying himself? In the end, you win.

Edited by JeetKuneLo: 11/5/2015 1:29:02 AMI hear you man. Nothing will ruin a game like an asshole on the team, and life is way too short to waste your time playing with assholes. Always remember it's just a game... the minute it stops being fun, you need to re-evaluate how you're spending your time... that's even if you're in the middle of a raid or whatever. The second someone starts bullying you, speak up. If they don't stop, just quit or -blam!-ing kick them if you're the party leader.. they're not worth your time. Also, reading some of the pathetic comments below... remember that the majority of the people on this forum ARE that asshole. You are gonna have a tough time finding empathy on here.

1 ReplyI don't think the Walking Dead should inspire anything

7 RepliesI wasted about 45 seconds of my life reading this. Suck it up.

3 RepliesNo you weren't. You weren't "bullied" unless someone came to your house and wedgie'd you. Geez. Pathetic pansy kids.
-
Bullied? LOL. There's mute, block, leave fireteam. Cyber bullying LOL

The biggest slap to the face was I out experienced both of them, and have completed the Raid more than both of them. I was just appalled with the hubris they had, it was just irritating. Yet the both of them felt the need to gang up on me, feeding off each other when it was just the two of them doing that shit, while the other half of the group tell them to shut up.

Eff those guys man. If just peace out next time don't waste your time with ass wipes join people that don't judge and expect a stupid expectancy

I also see this a good bit, but i am new to destiny (maybe 2 months or so) Last raid rage i saw was in nightfall strike, both my team were killed , so i hid and stayed alive so they could respawn(i thought this made sense opposed to trying to revive them & dying also) to receive a message, from one of the team ranting on about me hiding and not jumping in , jeez guys its just a game, however i had to point out the fact after we completed the strike i had 60+ kills more than any one in the team huh go figure. Moral of this tale = chill its just a game

1 ReplyI only shit talk when say a person keeps on getting killed so much it becomes funny to the group, then I'll say something like "well, new record!" Just to be funny, I don't go out of my way to pick on people
-
I'm seeing slot more people in the raids like that. I've yet to be their target but it's kinda annoying to see especially when it's against a new guy.

1 ReplyTo all calling op a pussy... I think you should know that by now he doesn't give a fûck what 30 yr old 300lbs queers that live with their parents and 7 year old squeekers have to say. Have a nice day, op :)

The internet is the ultimate protection from physical harm!

1 ReplyAgree that anger, sarcasm, rubbing things in and looking for people to blame is mostly counterproductive. Not just in Destiny raids, in anything.

Bro hug incoming!

Found a elite group on lfg last night. Our lowest player was a 313. I have never had so much trouble getting to oryx lol... And guess what we never beat oryx. A player was kicked by the elite leader lol... Really funny team. I've done better with less light players and beat oryx on hard.

So... TL;DR People will be people.

4 RepliesAs soon as I hear someone talking over everyone I mute them. No one is in charge if my game or how I play it. I make the rules. If you cant help without acting like a mongrel then piss off.
