Strangest thing it was by a 30-something noob man child(said he only had the game for a couple weeks), and another man-child with a speech impediment. It shook me up a little, all the verbal and mental assaults brought my game down. I'm usually a nice a guy on-line so when someone is being rude to me I usually just laugh and say haha yea that's funny. It's ironic though in real life and face to face no way in hell would these guy behave the way they did to me. Towards the end I finally had a breaking point and spoke my mind, the guy who had the game for a couple weeks apologized and ceased. However the speech impediment, "5-year old" continued to be immature. The group disbanded I was able to find another group and easily beat Oryx, big difference in the successful group, people were actually being helpful, no one was new to beating Oryx. Overall a better friendlier atmosphere, devoid of narcissists and assholes. Also I'm no push over either I've completed the raid on all 3 characters since launch of hard mode, and have always been respected and courteous.
So, I guess my biggest lesson I've learned from playing with people, is that shit talking, getting angry, or any form of toxicity is very harmful to the success and morale for a team. Elitism and Narcissism is the biggest indicator and danger sign to look out for in a player when recruiting a fire team. When it's just one or two people messing up they can learn by taking a break and communicating. However with narcissistic asshole its like talking to a brick wall with a bad attitude bring everyone down. Sorry for the rant but this has been lingering in my mind.
*This post was inspired by a powerful episode of The Walking Dead recent episode involving Peace and Aikido.
*For those "tough guys" My main point here is this has been a learning growing experience for me to be more helpful player as opposed to putting people down without contributing to the success of a team.
*Another thing to take from this post is that, when someone dies in a Raid it may not be their fault that they're dying. There is a million reason that could trigger this such someone tethering the shade at the wrong time next person that gets put in will be slammed. Ogres aren't being aggro 'd efficiently thus are loose cannons killing people on platforms, or the relic runner being targeted. Lack of communication where as someone the last to meet up somewhere. All these little things can be addressed and fixed instead of rage blaming and being rude.

3 RepliesQuick way to solve bullying! >Open menu >Leave party >Quit bitching you stupid, sheltered whore.

ya when I join up with randoms I say hi and chit chat a bit and if the vibe or the tone is off then I'm out of the party and moving on. Not going to spend 2 hours with aholes. Wouldn't care what emblems they have! Am not desperate! Find a chill group and enjoy! And ya - if you can find a group where there is 3 or 4 in the same clan - that is the one to be 5th or 6th member on!
-
I try very hard not to be the rude person. And heaven forbid anyone else in my party get nasty, 'cause I'll roll 'em. One of my favorite memories from Y2 (so far) is the first time myself and two of my friends ran the Black Spindle mission. We were less than a minute to go, the boss was dead, and there were still adds. One friend realized that we had to kill all the Taken, not just the boss, and he immediately gave up. Not really angry, just frustrated. I piped up and told everyone: "Don't give up! Keep going! We got this!" We beat the last enemy with 4 seconds to spare. Now every time we run the Spindle mission, he talks about how I wouldn't let him give up. XD A positive attitude is important. Sometimes especially so in Destiny. XD

1 ReplyEdited by Spidey: 11/5/2015 3:52:01 PMThat's why I stopped raiding back in the VoG days. I can deal with kids acting like kids in LFG groups, I just can't deal with grown men acting that way. Just made a choice way back then not to even be a part of it.
-
Wow bullies on Psn? Thats new.
-
1 ReplyI'd have left a lot earlier. If you're not having fun, it's not worth staying. Too many child-men out there waiting to take out their real life impotence on other gamers.
-
1 ReplyWho gives a shit? If your fire team sucks just leave. No ones forcing you to stay and be verbally abused.
-
3 RepliesIs it just me, or are kids overly sensitive these days? Yes, bullying is an issue. This, however, wasn't bullying. This was a case of easily avoided harassment. The moment you felt uncomfortable, or bullied, you should have simply left the game.

Edited by RORYWAN13: 11/5/2015 3:44:42 PMI really don't think any video game is worth allowing toxic semi retarded asswipes "into" your home for.
-
i don't personally think you should have stayed in the team, i have had horrible people play with me and if I'm every the team leader then i will kick them. people rely need to relax when gaming, its a game. its not real life and it certainly not worth getting angry over. if you don't like this advice then you are gaming for all the wrong reasons, i work hard and game hard when I'm not with my girlfriend. life is way to stressful for this crap.

2 RepliesBe excellent to each other.

2 RepliesEdited by TreeMan_X: 11/5/2015 4:13:19 PMKings fall is the biggest amount of artificial difficulty I have ever seen in a game before, even for destiny. Its nothing but bullet sponges, dps checks, and insta kill mechanics. So naturally one of the worst raids in destiny is gonna bring out nasty people.

18 RepliesYou cannot be "bullied" in a fireteam, in a video game. You little whippersnappers will never know what it's like to be truly bullied. To have to walk a different route to classes to avoid getting locker slammed/sucker punched in the halls... to have to stop the ice cream man at a different place in the neighborhood from other kids so your money and ice cream weren't taken from you... to have to pedal a different way to school and lock your bike at a different place every day because you didn't want it taken from you. Finding excuses to avoid events so you do have to feel the pain of not getting picked... Fearing physical abuse, monetary loss and exclusion from activities is true bullying. Being called a name from someone you've never met (in a virtual room) is hazing at best and something no one should fear as it has no direct impact in your life unless you let it.

This is nothing compared to be being bullied in real life.

This will build character for you. Try raiding once the puberty questline is unlocked or you've gone further with it. Trust me

1 ReplyTaking abuse from a kid with a speech impediment must have sounded friggin hilarious 😅😅
-
I joined a HM raid with a group of self proclaimed elitists assholes once. First part of the raid in relic room... "Guardian down" "Guardian down" "Guardian down" "Guardian down" "Guardian down" "KSnipe_ has left the game."
-
There's a mute button and an option to leave. The people who take that bull probably deserve it. But good for you for calling him out, that is the best option.
-
I'm sorry but I just don't believe online bullying is a thing. How can you just sit there and listen to someone insult you, turn off your mic, mute them, leave lol if you get bullied you allowed it to happen
-
You should sue bro
-
Cool story. i just wasted 3mins of my life
-
This is the new generation. Everyone is a victim. Thanks Obama

Poor little snowflake got his sensitive feelings hurt over a video game that has a mute option. Does noone have any balls anymore?
