Full Spartan II List
Here is a full list of the known Spartan II's both KIA, MIA or otherwise:
Initially 150 candidates were chosen for the Spartan II program but due to financial restraints Dr. Catherine Halsey was forced to pick her best 75 for the program.
It is stated in the Halo Wars timeline that there were 25 Spartan II's on or above Reach during the attack.
The Spartans in [b] bold [/b] are the ones that are either confirmed alive or are most likely still alive.
The Spartans in [i] Italics [/i] are alive but failed the augmentation.

At the time of the Covenant invasion of Reach 28 Spartan II's were alive. 3 were deployed in Grey Team leaving 25 Spartans to help defend Reach.

2 RepliesThe second batch of Spartans was supposedly cancelled due to funding and moral objections from Dr. Halsey. But I guess we'll find that out next year. Will died on Onyx in the portal chamber against a pair of Hunters. Kelly, Fred, Will and Kurt were present on Onyx.

wut i don't get is why they didn't evacuate the Spartans when they saw that the battle was getting to be even too much for them. If they did evacuate them the war would've gone a lot faster and probably in the UNSC's favor

What about the one from that dead or alive game lol, but thats wayyy diffrent story right? right. I want bungie to atleast aim towards other spartans stories not just all about John-117. it'd be even more cool if they made a movie about all the spartans and how they become one from that list telling each of their story in one movie that'd be like 3 hours long lol.

What? I presume you're asking if I think S-259 is a Spartan IV(4). I doubt it. There's been no hint at any other Spartan series besides the first three.

Technically most of them are MIA but we know that Fred and Kelly etc are still alive, somewhere. The same goes for John. My list shows the ones that are confirmed KIA or disabled from the augmentation.

I know the "Spartans never die" saying quite well, but to prevent any ambiguity I thought I would show which Spartans are confirmed as dead. That way we know who could come back in a future game or book and which Spartans won't.

I've just read something unusual on Halopedia. It states that the rock on Cote D'Azur that had the ancient inscriptions on and what Cortana used as coordiantes when they escapes Reach (To get to Halo) was actually created by the Precursors and not the Forerunners. How did the Precursors know about the Halo's if they died or dissapeared long before they were created?

before Reach got "glassed" spartan 117-John (a.k.a. the master chief) was sent to a space refitting station above Reach to destroy a small cube containing codes to Earth's location. He, and a small team were sent to recover or destroy it. Linda was one of the spartans on his team. i think the other was josh it is hard for me to remeber, but while on the ship josh9well call him that 4 now) lost control of his thruster packs and went into the middle of space. THe rest fo the mission was fine. Ther recovered a group of Marines as well, one of whom was Sergeant Johnson. They were escaping the dock when Linda took a direct face shot from a chjarged plasma shot. They returned to the Pillar of Autumn of medical attention. That was also the ship they were on beofre the final battle and the end of the spartans. damn i think i just recounted the last chapter of one of the books

Nice post, I not as up on all the spartans as I should be, this is very good. The only thing is, that we now know about spartan 259 and Spartan 320 who we can gather from the trailer are characters in the Game. and as we all know the number 259 and 320 are too high to be part of any spartan batch that we know of. And we can also Assume from the trailer that Spartan 320 and possibly 259 were not on the ground right away as 320 says "preping for combat insertion" which I'd guess means they are leaving from an orbiting ship.
