Solo player in Destiny
Hey guys
So since The Taken King came out, youtubers, streamers etc. says that the changes made to the game have made it really good. So i am seriously considering purchasing the game. But the thing that is drawing me away from purchasing it, is that i have never played it before, and i will play without friends (forever alone)
So is the game fun when playing alone? And is it worth the money, even if im playing alone?

1 ReplyThis game is fun to play on your own, it has a lot more story now. Sometimes I don't feel chatting so I play solo. BUT most of my favorite Parts have been while playing with others. The raids are a blast! Playing PVP is better with a group, even if you are getting wrecked, your buds will make you laugh about it. Finding some people you like to hang with is HUGE, but not as hard as you think. Just play with some randoms, if you aren't feeling it then move on or sometimes their friends are cool. Plenty of Guardians in the sea.

You will find there are now way more requirements for fireteams in both crucible and pve now. Some bounties require fireteams as so some quest line challenges. And some pve things are very hard without one. Solo nightfall? Good luck with that. Lol

Yes. I play mostly solo, which is why I haven't done much with the raids. Occasionally I will take the random invite to Nightfall or something and it usually works out okay.

It's good alone. But gets old much much faster. It's great with company, even randoms that become regular buddies are good. I'm in a clan of which I actually know exactly zero of them in real life. That doesn't stop me from partaking in raids, strikes and the more difficult events that are tough if not impossible to solo. So, I suggest giving up on "forever alone" for destiny and take a chance, join a clan and get involved. It'll be so much better.

Yeah, it's a bit grindy running everything solo, I solo most of the time. Game is very enjoyable solo for me. Lots of ppl here would be happy to help you level up though. Give it a chance and I bet by months end you have a decent group for pvp or pve activities. Though I'm soloing 90% of the time I've filled my friends list to the point where I can always find help anytime I like.

I play alone most of the time but my clan helps with running raids which you can't really do alone so that's the only crappy thing

I've played it solo since day 1 and, for all it's faults, am still hooked! Daily heroic strikes you can do by yourself and the vanguard strikes, to get more gear and rep, already has matchmaking (7 times out of 10 normally get decent team mates). Havent done any raids as not gone down the lfg route but have helped out other players on missions/quests etc just through random requests. So i'd say only thing you cant do solo is the raids to be honest and there are ways to get teamates for that as a one off.

I use the lfg sites for everything. So yeah you can, but must be willing to play with randoms.

Do you have a ps4? If one of your friends has the gameyou can shareplay with them. And i bought the game thinking id be #solo4life and i was untill i had to do VoG the. I found an awesome fireteam and now we're friends. [spoiler]but to answer your question yea its somewhat solo friendly [/spoiler]

2 RepliesYou may play alone for a couple days. Making friends happens fast. A lot of the content you will start with is totally approachable alone. I still try to solo whatever I can just for kicks and a challenge. Truthfully, you won't need other people till you've gotten to the end game content and want to do the raids, nightfall or Trials of Osiris. Many many clans here. Choose one carefully and you will always have a fireteam. My clan is recruiting if you wreck house in PvP. We're always willing to teach and always ready to learn.

I love this game and can do any activity solo except raids. So if you buy it for the raid experience, dont try it solo. Everything else is awesome

5 RepliesThe game is basically designed around teamwork. It's the entire point. If you don't play with others, you're missing out big time on what makes it actually fun. It's like riding one of those tandem bicycles alone. Pointless to buy one all for yourself.
