2761. OK,so I have heard Destiny was set somewhere from 100-900 years in the future. I found a little banner in the tower saying XXVIII - VII-LXI. Converting this it is 2761 on the last set of numbers,and the first bit is 2503. It was on a Vanguard banner,assuming the current year in Destiny is 2761 and the Vanguard was founded in 2503,meaning the collapse started at about 2500-2502. EDIT: Here is something to backup my fact about the traveller being discovered in time around 2015-2030 in the Destiny Universe: The guns the astronauts are holding is CLEARLY an M16a4/M16a3/M4 carbine,which are all guns being used in the current day. THEY LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THEM! For all we know,in future times,maybe we could get a different-named M16 with the same colors as the one in the Destiny opening?
