Well I've never committed genocide, and I would aid suffering given the chance. So I'll just tick 'yes'.

3 RepliesThis assumes genocide is a bad thing, but think about it...it's very practical. For example, I'm a farmer in my village, and my village and the neighboring village have been competing over the same land for generations, there have been murders, -blam!-s, all that. Well, finally, my village decides to have enough of this "forever war" over finite resources, so we decide to end it once and for all. We attack, and kill them, man, woman and child. Why do I kill a man who I've struggled with? So he won't compete with me over farmland and so I can feed my family. Why do I kill his family? So his children do not compete with mine. I kill his son so that mine won't have to fight. Very practical.

10 RepliesLots of "no" votes. Tough to imagine a human being doing more despicable things than the Christian God has done.

6 RepliesOkay, so, there are three genocides committed in the bible, and the genocides seem to be what most people are bringing up. So, I can see why God did each of these in the bible, even though I've barely read it. So, there's the city in Abraham's time. God destroyed that city because there was r Ape, murder, stealing, and overall evil. The evil there couldn't be undone without doing insidious and equally horrible things to the humans in order to cleanse them, and it would restrict their free will. God however, would have spared the city of his angels could have found five pure people. Only five, in an entire city. They had a hard time finding three, if I remember correctly. Then there's the Flood (Which I personally can't decide if it happened or not. I feel this bit may have been edited in by the Church, but moving on...), which wiped the world of humanity. It was basically the city before, except on a world-wide scale. All the same things were happening, and Noah's family were untouched by the evil. Now, some of you ask, "How can you justify killing pregnant women, children?" And, that's because the women were corrupted by the same evil, and so were the children. The unborn children probably were spared a life of poverty or tyrannical evil. Let's say... 20% of those unborn children were conceived by R Ape, for arguments sake. This day in age, would most if not all of those children be aborted, leaving them to the same fate? And even if they weren't aborted today, if anyone found out they would be treated like dirt, and live an incredibly hard life. And those children would be seeded with the same evil that the living have. And the Egyptians... well, all they had to do was let the Israelites leave, and they wouldn't. If someone asks why He didn't try a peaceful solution, He did. And that solution was called Jesus, according to Christianity. Jesus died for our sins because he saw the killing as harsh, and he had a solution because of his existence. He sacrificed himself by being crucified so that we wouldn't have to face another reckoning, or another genocide. And now some of you would say, "If God is All Powerful, he could make it where those things couldn't happen." But, he made man have completely free will, if he restricted all of those, he would restrict free-will. He also built a universe with specific rules for his creations so that they could create things like science, and understand it all. So, while he is beyond these rules, his creations for that specific universe must abide by those rules. And if he wanted to create something with separate rules, (1+1=3, Physics are completely different, etc...) he could create another universe or dimension. To those who ask why he won't fix our problems of today, such as natural disasters, cancer, and all of that... That's because it's our job. He wants to intervene as little as possible unless it's necessary, such as the world going to complete crap. Any questions? TL; DR: Go read it. There is no paraphrase.

I don't understand what you mean
-
Genocide? You mean when entire kingdoms directly disobeyed him? I mean, if an all powerful God told me to do something, I would listen
-
3 RepliesOf course, I don't understand how anyone could defend or justify this monster!

Fanatics can not be held representative of a movement, religion race or other group, so why do you try so hard to make others believe in general stereotypes? If you want to actually be able to say something and be believed, do some research on the subject instead of blurting out random misconceptions.

I've certainly never done as much harm to the human race as him, and I never will. But I'm not responsible for the creation of everything.

How could I not be?

I clicked No. Helping people out for eternity would become very boring. You have to throw some genocides and diseases in the mix to spice things up.

As someone who is indifferent... If the Christian God is real, I would become an Christian the moment I would be called upon to be judged by God himself. How could I not believe at that point? If Islam is real, I would apologize for not being raised Muslim in an all Christian family in the US. And proceed to tell him that I would not have cared either way if I was actually Muslim or not. If Atheism is real... nothing really changes.

6 RepliesPretty much anyone who hasn't committed genocide because he was feeling edgy should tick "yes".
