4 Exotics Left... How should I tackle this
So with TTK rendering all Year 1 Legendaries obsolete, I decided that I'll try to work for the remaining exotics I need before September 15.
Vex Mythoclast, The Crux (f/ Necrochasm), Queen's Breaker Bow, & Dreg's Promise
Want to knock out the activities that give the best odds first, b/c my play time is limited nowadays.
What order should I tackle this task?
***Edit: Great night. After unsuccessfully trying to find a Crota or Atheon hard checkpoint. I helped someone who never beat Skolas before and snagged a Cipher.
Then I find out Varkis was sitting on a second for my Warlock (had full bounties when I beat Skolas last week). On my way to clearing 2 of the 4 I need.

Easy first then hard each raid 3 times a week. If u have no life then rebuild a new character as many times as u want.

VoG will be done quick if you have three characters. You'll eventually get it, it took me about 10+ Atheon kills to finally get the vex to drop. As for the crux, I can't say much because I only have House of Wolves.

2 RepliesThe elder cipher has always dropped frequently for me. Just run PoE 35 on all your characters. I got so many elder ciphers I quit doing the prison of elders. At least 1 out of every 3 tries. For the crux and vex it could take a while. You'll just have to grind out VOG Hard and Crota Hard and pray to RNGesus

Personally I only have the Crux left, but that's because Crota is so easy (I sword-bear professionally)

Do Atheon Cp each week on each character, then do Hardmode Crota Cp each week on each character, then attempt the 35 😁

if you don't have a preferred one that you absolutely want, the easiest one would probably be queensbreakers bow doing the 34 poe. don't bother with dregs promise. it's junk. the problem with the Crux/Nechrochasm is that the drop rate is just stupid low. I was the first one out of the couple people i play with to get it. and it took me 50-60 hard mode Crota clears to get it. only being able to do it 3x week ---- that's 5 months.

Tackle it by giving up. In a month all legendary and exotic gear will be replaced by Taken King uncommon and rare loot. Nothing worth chasing now until the expansion.

Well you can only get a chance at Crux and Vex once per week on each character, and could easily use forums for finding an Atheon or Crota checkpoint for a quick drop.

Prison of elders is more likely to give you elder cyphers then the raids will reward you with vex or Necrochasm

In reverse order. Do the level 34 or (if you can tolerate it) level 35 PoEs. Those are the arenas from where the Elder Cipher (exotic bounty) can drop. Although it is RNG...the drop rate is pretty high. (I've had 5 drop so far). Once that happens, completing the bounty is pretty simple. The Vex and Crux are raid drops and are pure RNG with VERY low drop rates. (I once heard a drop rate of 0.3 percent (1 in 300) quoted for the Mythoclast). So you could be weeks-to-months grinding away trying to get those. I'd save those two for last. The only one of those four that I need is The Crux....and its never dropped for me...and I've only seen it drop ONCE for my raid team in all the hard mode Crota fights I've cleared. (Which...of course...was for someone else the day I decided to start farming CE for it.....)
