I can tell you. I won't be able to make a 100% true statement if I can't play with you though, sorry non Xbox 360 users. However I will be able to make a strong estimate. In my experience a higher kd means more skill. Mostly anyways. The current scale I use:
Bad: < 0.5
Need improvement: > 0.5 < 1
Average: > 1 < 1.5
Good: > 1.5 < 2
Highly skilled: >2
Again as I said the only 100% way to know is through gameplay. So I can personally test any on 360. However for the other consoles I ask that skilled players from each one pick up my slack and play with them. Experience is always better than just simply reading a stat. Even though stats are accurate it's not the whole truth.
Edit: It would be helpful if I could get others to help players tell. It's hard to get too so many people with so little time.

Sadly I need improvement and it's something I've started working on as I don't wanna hold my mates bac any more I know it don't bother them but it bothers me

16 RepliesHow many times do I have to say stats mean nothing. I have a few people using my account therefore doesn't show a true representation of my abilities. I made mine judgement on playing against the person more importantly the team. No one player makes a team.
-
2-3 kd on all game modes on my main. I try to use guns that aren't very common like MIDA too.
-
I used to be bad then I started playing properly. My KD is average :(

Guess I'm good

I'm on 360 I'll play with you. I have good games and less than decent games but I rarely go negative. So I guess average

Edited by M3NAC3 360: 7/23/2015 10:51:49 AMNope, I suck. I am slowly getting better though. I tend not to play it much, though. Thorn is just a pain in the ass.
-
I guess, I just play for fun most of the time. I don't really care about winning or losing, just as long as I get the kills lol
-
Edited by Afawafa: 7/23/2015 7:58:15 AMSlightly below 1.5 isn't average. 1.5 KD puts you in the top 10% of players lol. Large portion of players are quite bad so anything above 1.0 is decent in my book.
-
Same as others my kd is weighted down by my lacklustre beginning but my hunter is still in the top 6% so in happy with that. I'd depends to a point what game mode you're playing. I wouldn't mind having someone in the team who captured every zone and always stole the enemy heavy but went like 0.7 because the extra points for the team from Their other actions make up for that. The 3v3 is less forgiving.

I suck at pvp but am addicted to it! Gives me a buzz, I don't care if I lose because I know I suck. Always max out the 100 points.

13 RepliesEdited by Lib3ralwithaGun: 7/23/2015 6:38:50 AMK/D isn't always a good representation of how good people are. I'm sure I could get a better K/D than the one I have (1.68) if I reset my data and started over. My stats are from game launch, but nowadays I average anywhere from 1.8 to 2.5 on a day-to-day basis. Still have bad days too, but whatever. Also, I'm not part of any clan. People on good clans will naturally die much less often than if they were lone wolves, because people on good clans always know how to stick together, always use good/cheap weapons...etc. Those people will always have a better K/D than if they were not on a clan. I think your numbers are good for showing how good players are on a clan, but not for people just playing by themselves with randoms. "Average" to me, is probably around .8 and anyone who has a 1 or higher can be "good". Great players fall in the 1.5 or higher range, because f you actually look me up on Destiny Tracker, my K/D ranks within the top 5% of the world. Not trying to brag, but I'd say anyone who ranks within the top 5% (or even the top 10%) should be considered highly skilled, especially if they don't belong to a good clan. The people that have a 2.0 or higher are very rare. It's only a handful of players (well...a few thousand out of millions, anyway).

Average to Good. First few months were abyssmal, but no intention to restart just to pad my K/D. And I do not get sweaty every time I play. Normal Crucible is fun to try out new guns and builds :-)
