Can I get banned for using a mouse and keyboard adapter?

If you're going to flame me for using one, don't bother posting. I want a legit response from Bungie. Is this a bannable offence since we are limited by the controller? I can't aim faster than someone using a controller because I'm limited by the same maximum in game look speed. All the adapter does is translate button presses and mouse movements to the controller. I can't do anything the controller user can't, the controller has to be plugged in to the adapter for it to work.. Yes it makes me more accurate because I grew up playing counter strike on PC for 15 years. But I can still get wrecked by kids using a controller, it doesn't make me a god. People who think that using a mouse and keyboard adapter is just like playing on PC need a reality check. On pc when I flick my wrist quickly, the mouse tracks the same distance no matter how fast I move my wrist. However, with the adapter, im limited by the games max look speed just like on controller. So I can only aim as fast as the game/controller let me. It's EXTREMELY different than the native support on pc. EX: if someone in game has max sensitivity and is using a controller and has to turn around 180 degrees. He will turn around just as fast as I will using my mouse adapter. I can't turn around faster. If there was NATIVE support I would be able to turn around faster. SIDE NOTE: Is there a chance of Bungie implementing NATIVE mouse and keyboard support? If not, what are the chances of increasing the maximum look speed/sensitivity?

  • the article says that bungie wants to target console aiding components like Chronos which is near aimbot but for controller , also when you have a M&K translator that does just this and not more it would fall under "accessibility" but if your device "accidentially" decreases recoil, or increases fire rate or adds aim assistance , then you are not talking about MnK in the first place but about the unfair advantage you get from adding benefits. and to be absolutely clear about this, every instance of players using MnK devices the odds are very high that they can (and probably will) cheat.. So bungie ever since is on the "better safe than sorry" approach and if they can't properly distinguish between pure MnK translation and "MnK with benefits" they will probably go the "ban them all" approach, like they did so many times in the past .

  • I do not believe that you can be banned because you are not modifying anything such as a Xbox elite controller or a scuff controller uses the paddles to remap the main 4 buttons on your controller a keyboard and mouse remap the buttons on the controller to be used for a different controller if you have ever played rock band before the drum and guitar controllers are not modifying the buttons they are remapping them to be used on a different controller so for that reason I do not see the mouse and keyboard as a bannable offense no

  • Nah, probably not. Shesmynerd a much hated streamer uses that, but he's not been banned.

Manipulating / modifying hard wear is a ban There is currently no Microsoft or Sony authorised mouse and keyboard game play device on their systems. Third party devices do exist but they are modifications of hard wear and can result in a ban. It is very in lolly that this will change in the near or distant future. Check terms of use and terms of service for details. I agree I prefer using a mouse and keyboard... That is why I only really play pve content in this game and play counter strike and TF2 for the pvp. My advice if you don't mind getting a perma ban and having to reset up the entire game stop using a kbm setup and play as intended. Just play CS and tf2 they are way better anyway and a lot more fun.

    • You mentioned many times how your look speed isn't any faster than a controller user. You are right. However look speed is only part of the equation. Accuracy is just as important. Adjustments to your 'look' on a mouse can be much more accurate at high sensitivity than the same sensitivity on a controller. Your thumb does not have the ability to be as accurate as your hand. You are changing a 'look' adjustment from a single finger to an entire hand. Speed is the same but accuracy will not be. Also one can simply say that if there were no advantages to using a keyboard mouse than you would use the provided controller rather than spending time, effort, and money to setup a keyboard-mouse mod

      • Microsoft is updating the Xbox One to allow for a keyboard and mouse to be used sometime in the Fall. I can't imagine they would ban you for it then.
