The Lighthouse is SOOOO Unfair
I'm sure a lot of people are going "I am never going to get to the lighthouse" (me included) and I'm also sure a lot of people have heard about the Trials of Osiris cheating. Now if we have a closer look between these two things we reveal that because Bungie have put epic loot in the lighthouse for getting 9 - 0, this is ENCOURAGING cheating. If you really think about it, people are going to cheat to get this stuff - I think Bungie should've based the Trials matches on ability, not internet connection. This may have limited the amount of cheating and would've given a better chance for those who aren't good at PVP.

If the trials is a raid, and other players are the boss, then I would opt to do Skolas, because at least I know I have a chance at killing him without too much interference unless I have a bad team. In a PVP scenario, humans will use the cheapest tricks in the trade, from network manipulation, or using the weapons that gain them the most advantages (You know what those weapons are) Besides a couple of shaders, I just don't really see any armor or weapons that I like.

2 Replieslight house = over rated only gun worth caring about is the messenger. and theres not nearly enough weapon, sparrow, armor, ship, shader verity in this game care about going more than once. plus every time you go you get an annoying cut scene.

No one started this game beast. PVP has a learning curve, adjust yourself.

4 RepliesThe lighthouse is only for the champions of crucible and the loot is outstanding an adepted weapon and an exotic shouldn't be given out to any dumbass on the battlefield,bad players shouldn't be rewarded with great loot its like saying this level 24 sucks but he tried so give him gjallarhorn

25 RepliesHere's the problem. Trials cannot self-sustain. Every week, more and more players that cannot achieve 9-0 (or even 7-3 or 5-3) will leave, which diminishes the pool of players to pull from for matchmaking, slowly dwindling even more until all you will have is the top 5% or less that will engage in it each week, and even some of them will leave when matches can't be found or they've recieved all the gear they want and it stops being "fun". There is no real incentive for your average player to get in and suffer through getting stomped regularly to work towards getting better. This was the same issue IB had when you recieved nothing for a loss only Trials magnifies it. It became unacheivable for a mass portion of the player base or extremely time consuming. Trials is heading down that same road only faster. How many players went 0-3 last week that jumped back in this week? I'm betting very few. If a grind of sorts was permitted, it's appeal would broaden. A commentor on reddit made a great suggestion of 2 seperated play cards. 1 for those pushing for the Lighthouse that maintains a 9-0 flawless victory requirement and 1 that doesn't count losses but does not permit Lighthouse entry. Even if that second card demands double the wins for loot, people will still grind it out, knowing there is something at the end. It boosts participation while still keeping the "elite" items to a strict standard. It also promotes players engaging and getting better in the activity. I'm sure no one would be ok with the only way to attain elemental primaries being completing HM raids or level 35 PoE flawlessly without dying or a wipe. Truth is, we can maintain the flawless standard in Trials while still opening it to everyone. You just have to be willing to permit it.

The lighthouse isn't supposed to be there for everyone to get to. If you manage to get the wins then you earned it or were carried. Either way... It's not there for everyone to get.

I made it to the lighthouse today!!! It's not that hard to do especially with the boosts you can buy with passage coins. Find a team that communicates and you'll do fine.

1 ReplyI said the exact same thing, I will never get to the lighthouse. I'm an average PvP player. But i got there with all 3 of us at lvl 33. All you need is good communication and the ability to adapt. You don't know how many times we went against teams trying to out snipe us and lose round after round down the same round. When we went up against better snipers we took the fight to them. Ended up going 17-1, my Titan still has mercy buff from last week.

I've not gotten to the lighthouse but I'm still a good player my problem is typically because of the lack of good mates...regardless if they make it any easier I swear I could solo it not to mention the players that are better than me...I think they should leave it just how it is

Epic loot? You must be joking right? Coming from a 4 time lighthouser the loot isnt very good. Youll get the emblem if you have space for it and dont have it equipped already, passage coins, etheric light, a primary, and then a chance at an exotic. The one exotic ive recieved from the lighthouse was a no land beyond so yeah.... "Epic loot"

Wahhh wahhh Mummy bungeee is unfairrrrr Can't get to light houseeeee waaaaaaaabhhh Waaaahhhh mummyy deeeeeeejj wahhhhhh Keep the tears. Most of my fireteam are guardians of the lighthouse and will -blam!- and pillage any scrub not worthy of going in there. Only the strongest get through, but its rare. Til then, bring the lube cuz they will not even spit on ur eye socket once they start skull -blam!-ing u with NLBs.

Instead of thinking you'll never get there, go to recruitment and find someone to get you there. I've heard that people are being paid for flawless runs, if you want to go that bad, you could always pay. Also, whether they're matched by skill or connection, cheaters will cheat, that's just how it goes man.

1 ReplyTotally agree with the post and the majority of comments. Trials was tipped to be for everyone but really if you want the best if gear you need to be pvp elite! Nm getting by cheaters. Punishes pve and casual players with lives! Don't agree with it at all. It should be a better game mode more like iron banner more accessible. Things like the only exotic emblem jus pisses me off. Bragging rights for 'tea baggers'

I agree. Perhaps it's a trap so Bungie can find more cheaters. Heck in an update last week bans where mentioned along with the Trials.
