As much as I despise drug usage in any form, I still wouldn't turn in my friend for using it. If he was dealing it? I'd certainly consider it, however I would never be friends with that sort of trash in the first place. Snitching is the lowest of the low.

Shouldn't have smoked weed in the first place. You can't just omit laws you don't like. The Nullification Crisis taught us that valuable lesson ages ago.

I think most objective, rational people will consider cannabis a very minor issue in the grand scheme of things. In my opinion, it should be legal, but the truth is, there are obscenely steep penalties tied to it. As an adult, with a pretty solid handle on my life,, who smokes pretty regularly (have for the last 6 months), I understand the risks. If I were younger, and were interrogated (by who, you do not specify, but assuming it was an authoritative figure) I might be compelled to "snitch". Either way, you can't blame the parents for wanting to keep their children out of harm's way, you can't blame the police for doing their job, if you are outraged, your best tool for fighting comes from trying to change the law. The Federal Government has already stated that they will not get involved if a state legalizes it, basically making the prohibition of marijuana a state issue. Protest, write letters, and get involved in movements. The more states that legalize it, the more momentum it builds. Either way, it is only a matter of time.
